Relative came to work on our shower and stepped inside the shower with his filthy dirty shoes on.

Was I being unreasonable by asking him to take off his shoes and stand on a towel while doing the work?

He was about to put his 2nd foot inside the shower when I told him that was UNACCEPTABLE!
Those are the same shoes he wears when he goes on various jobs all over the county and steps on grease, oil, gasoline and God only knows what else.

If he was doing work for free, then yes unreasonable.

You're crazy. We had a plumber come to work on our shower and he did it with his work boots on. It took me 30 seconds to rinse away the dirt before we used the shower.

Chill out. I assume he was doing you a favor and fixing your shower for free?

Cut him some slack.

Just clean the poop, OP.

If you are okay with wearing shoes in the house why would you care if they are in the shower. You can always just turn on the shower afterwards and clean up.

The great thing about showers and tubs, in case you didn't know, is that you can bleach them.

What if he dropped a tool on his bare foot? You are not cool, OP.

It's...a shower. Do you need a refresher on how that works?

A more thorough cleansing was needed I'm afraid.

Yes, you are being totally unreasonable. I've never seen a workman remove their shoes, ever.

+1000. He wears those shoes too because of safety precautions. Don't you know that this is part of normal protective gear? You are an idiot and a control freak. Bleach is your friend and only costs $3.99 a gallon.
