Relative came to work on our shower and stepped inside the shower with his filthy dirty shoes on.

Are you the type who wants everything video recorded on a phone for proof of something actually happening? I'm sorry but I do not have the time for that.

You're being unreasonable, op. Especially if this was a favor for you.

For gosh sakes- spray down the shower with some Clorox spray when he's done. You are being unreasonable.

OP. How about you fix your own damn shower yourself?

That, or pay him fair market plumber wages. In this area that can run you around $160.00/hour or so

You were out of line, OP.

Contractors in this country keep work boots on at all times to prevent injuries and, if they work for a large organization, for insurance purposes. Their job is high risk, since they are manipulating tools all the time.

Your relative was fully within his rights to keep his shoes on.
Plus it was in a SHOWER. The easiest place in the house to clean, don't you think???

Not your brightest or kindest moment, OP.
I hope you're not like this all the time!

And we live a Japanese-style no-shoes house. We clean after contractors. We survived a major gut-job and renovation project while living in our home. You can deal with cleaning a bathroom, plus the contaminated path the contractor took to get from your front door to your bathroom.

Jeez.

This. I can wash the shower. Carpet is a bit harder.

Do you lick your shower? I'm confused.

dear lord. I can't even imagine having the energy to spend on being upset that someone put dirt on a place that is super easy to clean. Seriously. Try to relax. Your blood pressure must be so high. This is not worth getting upset over.

Do you not know that bird droppings can cause diseases in humans?[/quote

Do you and op not know how cleanser works?

If only there was a way to get hot running water into this place you call a shower... Oh, wait...

A relative doing free work? Yes, unreasonable is an understatement. With any luck he tells the rest of your extended family so they can be aware and help you can get the help you need.

And how would his sweaty feet/socks on a towel make things more convenient?
