Probably... he did this on purpose. Why else did he have dog treats ready to go.

Do you really think he brought dog treats to the park when he was birdwatching for the sole purpose to find a white lady to film and get fired from her job?

It really is. I'm going to bring handfuls to throw out when there are off leash dogs on paths in Alexandria now. Brilliant idea.

Probably much more effective than pepper spray.

What on earth happened prior?? What are you assuming or making up, and what is the evidence for your assumptions?

Why are people focusing on the dog treats? All you need to know is that she called the police and told them a lie that could've gotten a man killed.

If you're wondering how that could've gotten him killed, then there's no hope for you in this discussion.

I had the same reaction. It’s funny that people are so put off by the treats. I read that and thought it was genius. Don’t want your dog coming up to me? Leash it!!

+1. Time to move this to the Minnesota cop killer thread. No way this should be top story anymore. She got fired, she deserved it.

I also hope this makes people in rock creek park start to follow the leash laws.

Just imagine if this was a middle-aged white male birdwatcher politely asking a black woman to restrain her unleashed dog, and she got aggressively up in his face and then made a call to police falsely claiming to be in danger.

Black man here: I hate the cancel culture and I also hate to see someone lose a successful career because of one mistake. HOWEVER, her actions (lying to the police) could've led to the death of the man at the hands of the police. If the officers were nearby, they would've come with guns drawn at the attacker and we know how that frequently ends. Those of you accusing him of wrongdoing would still be making the same arguments about why he was killed.

In this case, justice was served. I hope she can learn from this but I think her career is over. The position of VP at a Wall Street firm doesn't come up very often...especially during these times.

According to Franklin Templeton on Twitter:

Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton.

OK...but that didn't happen. Why don't you imagine it and let us know how it turned out.

Sure thing! All the Karen apologists on this thread would be defending the birdwatcher and calling for the arrest of the lady who broke the law.

No. A few pages ago she was put on paid leave. Effective immediately she is fired. Clean out your desk, no benefits, no reference letter, no job.
