Think about it, if he says they will be gone for the week then people are likely to tune into another station bc they have already heard the content that will be played during the replay shows. This essentially lowers ratings. Why would Iheart want Kane to advertise this? They wouldn't.
On 933 in Tampa, Kane replaced the MJ Morning Show and they did the same thing. It's not Kane's decision, it's the companies decision to keep ratings as high as possible.

Well- judging from the number of people who are just figuring out that Danni is gone/still asking when she's coming back, I think a really high number won't realize they're not live. People still don't know that Rose isn't in DC! I can't decide if I'd rather be one of those people...or someone who refreshes this page multiple times a day to check out updates on Danni social media posts...

Here's an idea: Instead of lying and saying they would be live, He could have said nothing at all. They say nothing about certain things and lie about others. They can't even be consistent. If they have a PR person they should be fired.

He's not exactly hiding the fact that he's on vacation. Why does he think he can take advantage of the listeners' trust so much? I mean, yes, many listeners won't realize but anyone on social media will know right away.

That's a really good point. I never thought of that before.

I seriously doubt that is the case. If you go back (for those that have lived in DC for more than 15 years), Don and Mike would take time off and forewarn listeners before it happened. They had the highest ratings in the DC area regardless of the time slot or station for their entire run.

Kane just caters to the lowest common denominator in terms of brain cells.
