Honestly half the moron madness stories are from Florida and out of my two sets of cousins, all three of my Florida cousins have not managed to finish a college degree; one barely finished high school even with an extra year and summer school, one had an accidental pregnancy, and one is an alcoholic. Not AT ALL saying everyone in Florida is stupid. Seriously not sure why people are getting offended by this. Just saying that there are a lot of stupid people in Florida. For sure not the stupidest state.

You're going to make a sweeping generalization about an entire state based on your own family's experience? And, you think Floridians are dumb? Look in a mirror.

Please see US Census statistics posted on this thread yesterday. It's not a "sweeping generalization."

Why does a small segment on a radio station get you riled up? If they tried to do real bits they would be incredibly boring and people would have to consent. Aren't we listening to radio to be entertained? Allow yourself to be entertained. If it is fake people are upset. If it's real, it's boring, people are upset. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

If you have listened to enough radio shows, you would realize that a show can be entertaining without being fake. Sometimes, a specific game that is done is entertaining, or in some cases, educational.

The reality is TKS relies on fake bits to entertain the listening audience, and based on some of the ratings information that has been posted lately (although there are demographics galore that are not public knowledge), Kane is losing his audience.

What bits exactly are fake on TKS? Proof?

They've been discussed before, with proof (FCC rules, MD recording laws - the station is based out of MD, news articles, etc). That info can be found in the prior posts of this thread.

I'm confused why we're even talking about this again. If you don't like what TKS does, then don't listen. If you do like what they're doing, then continue to listen. I personally stopped listening, but I don't come here and insult other people because they choose to still be a listener. It's pointless to call anonymous strangers on the internet stupid because of the radio they choose to listen to on their commute in the morning.

They are entertainers. They should be able to carry a show with good conversation, engaging listeners in call-ins/discussions, creating vignettes out of items in the news and real-life experiences. They do this in some respects, but then they supplement with these horrendous fake bits that undermine the credibility of the show. I guess some people eat them up.

You can't compare apples to oranges with sitcoms vs. radio. Nobody on the sitcom is trying to pass it off as real.

+1

When STM tried to do this people said it was boring and attacked them. Discussing things in the news and then going into top 40 songs is kind of weird. When I was a listener, one of my main reasons for listening was lighthearted fun in the morning to get away from all the things in the world for a second. If I want that experience there were other news programs I could go to. I personally don't see the problem with the fake roses. I think people's main problem was that they believed they were real from the beginning and got their feelings hurt when they found out they weren't. I can't stomach the show now for many other reasons, but just my thoughts.

These fake bits were happening loooong before the ratings decline. Sarah and Samy were part of it and everything was just fine.

True, and there was chemistry between them and Kane.

Chemistry was shot the day Sarah quit TKS. Kane has never recovered from it and never will.

^^ totally agree, PP. I have been a listener since day one also, and that's exactly how I feel.

OP here. I agree as well. I think the chemistry was shot a bit before that, when Samy left. When it was kane, Sarah, and Mel I still liked the show even though I missed Samy. When John came in to replace Samy chemistry was lost, and then when Sarah left that was the end of that. Given the conversation from all parties on chemistry, it seems as if everyone was faking it, as they seemed to not get along when the mics weren't on. I guess it was all fake.

I completely agree with you all. I used to be a long time listener and dealt with roses being fake and their other bits. But when Sarah and Samy left, it seemed to lose it's spark.

Really? We are insulting people based on where they live? Can we just grow the hell up and talk about the important things? I think we all know what I'm talking about when I say the important things; the cocoa puff

LOL did anyone see Danni's post the other day about her text messages with her brother? She's already complaining about single parenting and how hard it is. I am amazed it can be that difficult when a) she only works one day a week, b) she still had a nanny, c) she already took a week and went on a trip to London by herself and d) has an active "co-parent". What a drama queen.

Yes! I love Bobby Bones. Although all radio has to be scripted to some point, at least the cast of Bobby Bones Show makes it seem authentic. And they aren't judgmental or negative, puts me in a good mood
