This is any parent's nightmare no matter which gender, race, nationality, religion or age your kids are. I hope they find closure. It must be traumatic for all of her friends as well. There is no point in shaming her parents or friends for what they could've done or not done. They are probably beating themselves worse than you can. What we can do is try to teach young people to use common sense and stay diligent around strangers and strange places. |

No. Friend's job was to tell her why this is a bad idea and to inform resort desk that she didn't come back at night before going for the scheduled trip. She wasn't required to put herself in danger at night at beach in a foreign country with a drunk male. |

Based on the few headline news lines was it that the group of those four women slept in until noon or so, perhaps they tried contacting her or finding her to ask if she wanted to go along on an outing with them possibly their last day or few days of spring break, they didn't hear from her, thought maybe she slept late or was hanging out with that guy so they left for their day trip without her, came back to find she was still not reachable, then contacted hotel et al. That? |

I’m just pointing out the absurdity of your statement of tossing a comment to the front desk that your friend is shacked up with a cornfed Chad. Did you ever go on spring break in college? These resorts attract a zillion college age kids for the entire month of March. The workers are not playing telephone operator for a bunch of young adults who are buzzing around the resort with dead cell phones and raging hangovers. |
