+1 They never do this on the Roe thread because they get destroyed immediately.
maybe we should agree to only post the link to that thread, instead of engaging with the arguments. It seems like every political thread is about abortion these days, and I’m kind of over it

There’s no way to talk about the candidates without discussing their abortion positions for this election. If the MAGA crowd wants to lie, it’s incumbent upon others to correct the record.

Bet you never heard that on CNN

Joe Biden isn’t running for office. I promise we heard that on CNN.

Please get your guy out there on the trail saying he’s the pro-choice candidate.

Trump says what most Americans believe that he doesn’t like it but sometimes it’s necessary but that doing it in late trimesters or even after birth which Dems want is unacceptable . The Dems want full reproductive freedoms and abortion rights throughout all trimesters made law . Most Americans agree with Trump that’s going too far and also banning abortion or abortion pills entirely nationwide is also too far

most Americans believe abortion should be legal, up to a point, but that point is not at six weeks, and they don't think lawyers should decide when the life of the mother is at risk.

Most liberals don't think abortion should be legal in the 3rd trimester UNLESS there is risk to mother's life.

Currently, the majority of blue states have a limit on abortions in the third trimester.

Also, Independents see abortion access as one of the key issues in 2024.

You might also want to read up on some of the red states where their citizens have voted to enshrine abortion access in their states' constitution.

Independent, in menopause, who worries for her DD

Every man with a wife and/or daughter should be worried for them if they love them.

+2. My daughter’s life could be threatened by these laws. Of course it’s my top voting issue.

The horse is out of the barn. The laws are passed and SCOTUS has said it’s done.

Asking as a Dem voter: what are the Dems going to actually do? What is the first 100 days plan, here?

Because if the whacko R’s don’t win the top job this election, they will in another cycle.

So what are the Dems actually going to do in the executive and legislative branches to protect what little we have left? I’m not even asking for them to return to Roe. I’m asking how they will govern effectively to protect what’s left, including gay marriage.

Haven’t seen an answer yet.

It all depends on how the House and Senate turn out. If the Dems sweep both, there will be an immediate effort to codify Roe.

Well the top voting issue for most people is the economy and Trumps economy was better than Bidens. I miss the days when 100 dollars meant a trunk full of groceries not just 2 bags

Which of course makes it super surprising that he appointed judges who lied under oath and removed the federal protection of abortion in early trimesters, right?

Get your guy out there telling Kavanaugh he was wrong.

It didn’t remove the federal protection of early trimester abortions. It left it to the states and all the states have exceptions for life of the mother so it’s strange people keep talking about ectopic pregnancies . Something that is rare and isn’t the norm in 99% of pregnancies . Most abortions aren’t for medical necessity

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/kate-cox-on-her-legal-fight-for-abortion-trisomy-18/

so strange you keep ignoring how some states are dealing with the "exceptions for life of the mother".

And yet. Trump stacked the SC to overturn his own belief in choice.

And Biden is yesterday’s news. Try again.

+1. GOP BoTS haven’t been reprogrammed yet to talk about Kamala. Somehow I don’t think Trump’s record on abortion rights is comparable to hers. Although I would not be shocked if he funded abortions for several affair partners

This is why Trump voters think he’s iffy on abortion. They say this in focus groups all the time. Yet he and his judicial picks are why we’re here in the first place and he was bragging about it before he realized that was unpopular.

Lol . They didn’t certify it before for 50 years . Why would they do so now?

And if they don’t there will at minimum be:

1. Robust defense of the abortion pill against the crazies trying to get the FDA to revoke its approval.
2. Support for people who need to travel between states for abortion and no bans on women’s travel.
3. Appointment of justices who believe women’s healthcare should be protected.

Yeah this isn’t enough— but it’s so much better than what we’d get under Trump.

Inflation is a global phenomenon that doesn’t just impact the US economy. This is like voting for Trump because there were more hurricanes during Biden’s term.

I have friends who benefited from loan forgiveness who are now in a position to look for their first home. The economy might be worse for you (though price gouging was absolutely a thing before Biden…) but it’s better for them.

Current inflation issues are global. I went to Asia. They are also experiencing inflation. Should Biden be blamed for that, too?

What do you think Trump can do to get inflation down?

Roe was the law of my lifetime and they never lifted a finger. Why do you think they will now?

There’s a polls thread already but nothing that’s come out yet fully reflects that she’ll be the nominee, they’re all hypothetical.
