Airplane noise concerns overblown?

People in thread are clinically OCD. You all need help. FYI, DARIC is being changed sometime next year, which should lower noise along the nicest part of Bethesda (GEH, GE), so thank god for that.

Let’s hope, but DC by the river is getting worse. More concentrated. More DCA flights too.

ps If it’s OCD, why “thank god”?

Does anyone know if Woodley Park in Cleveland Park are clear from the plane noise? We are looking to possibly move to an area where we don’t have to hear the planes stay and night.
We are in Kalorama, and though it’s not as bad here as it is in Georgetown, old town, foggy bottom ,Palisades and others. It’s still a REAL problem here -and can I can even hear the planes inside the house even with a white noise machine on. Outside it’s ridiculous.
When I first moved here, I contacted the person who is in charge of noise complaints at DCA-he said it would be typically a 65% 35% north south flow meaning that 35% of the time at least we would get a break on the DC side. Since I have been here it’s been 96% North flow -basically every single day.

No noise at all in the part of the neighborhood that is in P-56B. That’s mostly Woodley Park between Mass Ave and Connecticut Ave.

See below for FAQ including what the real estate disclosures are needed and how to find out for yourself.

Here’s the map — stay within the purple circle; but around it is ok too. Avoid any red and blue line areas. Most of DC us just fine, but definitely not near the river.

Recently there has been a serious uptick in aircraft noise over Navy Yard and Anacostia. Have they re-routed the planes to the east?!
