I've heard this in confidence more then a few times. Maybe the person was just spouting off, but I think many had their pets before the relationship (long term bond) and pets love unconditionally.
|
| I've heard that extremely dysfunctional women can have more of an affectionate bond with their pets than they do with their husbands, because the pets can't talk back, and these women need to feel as if they totally dominate the relationship. These women are very uncomfortable with a differing viewpoint. |
| absolutely NOT. |
| I would get hit by a car to save my dog from being hit by a car. I'd hesitate before doing it for my husband. And I'm totally in love. It's just a much more pure love with my dog. Who I've known since before knowing the husband. |
| No I don't. I had my dog before I met my now DH and if they hadn't gotten along at the beginning of the relationship, it would have been a deal breaker. However, I love my husband and I care about him more than I do our dogs. |
On behalf of all DHs out there, I thank you!!
|
| Love both. But if I had to choose who to save, DH would win every single time. |

| Not at all. I would fight to the death for DH and my kids, but I just don't care for animals to that extent. They're OK, and I'm glad we have them but love? That's a little much. |

| You'd get different answers from me and DW. Pretty sure she loves the dogs more. |
I'm the 15:51 PP and I am totally ok stating I love my dogs. I'm absolutely willing to cop to being what most on this board would deem a crazy dog person. My dogs are adorable, affectionate, cuddly, sometimes infuriating, wonderful creatures and I'm so glad I have them in my life. I still don't love them as much as I love my husband. |
And I think you should get your wish as soon as possible, for your husband's sake. And your dog's. |
How strange. Your husband had to live up to not only your standards, but your dog's, in order to be privileged to date you. Lucky him. |
Wow. Why are you still married to her? |
