If back in the dating game, how important to you would slimness be in a prospective partner?

It seems like every single online dating profile indicates a desire for a slim/fit partner. Is there no hope for an average 40 something to find a quality person?

Im sure if you were willing to date an obese balding short poor divorced man you could find plenty of dates.

People put that in to weed out the actual fatties. If you're truly average sized then it won't be an issue.

Nope those guys are looking for slim tall blonde rich chicks.

I think average is probably fine, but significantly overweight could make it harder. The most important thing is not to represent yourself in your profile. If you're completely honest, that will weed out the more shallow ones. I had a friend who described herself as blonde and slim--she was neither--and couldn't understand why her dates seemed disappointed when she met them.

^misrepresent not represent

I'm not in the game, but if I were then at first slimness (looks in general) would be important. Over time, as I found my footing again, they would become less important. I'd still always want a pretty face, but I'd be less and less worried about slimness. Significantly overweight -- obese -- would always be an issue though.

Fat girls
eat more at dinner time
so its a more expensive date
then a slender chick
However at least a fat girl wont go running to
the bathroom stick her finger down her throat
and vomit all that expensive food down the toilet

some women carry the weight better than others

for the most part if youre even asking the question youre not ready to date because youre too insecure

get your big butt to they gym for 3 or 4 months
then try again

Slimness is always very important to me.

Average by present American standards? Meaning fat?
No I wouldn't date you.

Average meaning neither fat or skinny? That would be okay.

I actually prefer men with a stocky frame.

I dont like thin guys so for me it would not be a dealbreaker

+1

My now-DH is overweight, but active. I knew he was overweight when we met. "Slimness" wasn't important, but I did want a partner who was active.

Being thin or slim seem so pointless. I'd rather have someone who's fit, in shape, and athletic.

That's nice, but these are euphemisms for thin or slim.
