So true 👍 |

I think they're helping USYS because a lot of elite clubs are trying to keep their feeder networks. It's either buy them out individually OR this new partnership. Too many top USYS clubs went to MLSN/GA the past few years, threatening their pipelines if talent decides to stay where they are at. Our top ECNL girls team in our area is know for college placement, not development. They survive/thrive on their reputation/FOMO alone. |
All those clubs Boys are already in ECNL, and none of them are getting access to MLSNext 1 anytime soon. |
our local ecnl club is horrible at z1 and every single year like clockwork for z2 all the best talent shows up. I don't see this changing next year or even soon as it's just expected around here. |
I think you missed the point. ECNL (and other leagues) just take the top clubs from other leagues and make a travel league. Basically they took the top clubs from USYS back in the day to create a league. Now ECNL wants to work with USYS to create some kind of Frankenstein Uber league. The ironic part is if ECNL didnt exist there would be a single USYS Uber league. |
I get that. They wouldn't be trying to do it, if they didn't get threatened by MLSN and GA as a combo, as such as it is. |
Whats ironic about that is people's perspective on whos right or wrong is 100% colored by if you have a boy or a girl playing. What is think is ironic is we have more male and female players than any other country in the world. We also pay more for soccer than anyone else. Yet we dont compete at the highest levels. |
Largely because our best athletes are playing other sports |
Well than that means a bigger player pool and development doesnt mean anything if "the best" players are just genetically born winners in whatever sport they play. |
After ECNL and GA the rest are really just feeder clubs into one of those platforms. If you are in RL, Aspire, NPL or DPL and you have a chance to move to ECNL/GA you take it. |
I’ll give you: 1) ECNL 2) GA 3) ECRL 4) ASPIRE ECRL is not better then GA. |
The top GA clubs can compete with the best of ECNL. If you take off the top 20 GA clubs though it's a wash between GA and ECRL. But that is also true for the bottom of ECNL. |
ECRL is a long way from anywhere. The adjustment above is better, but I'd still say: Tier 1) ECNL & GA Tier 2) RL & Aspire At the Jeff Cup, Aspire teams have beaten ECNL teams. Just because a team has ECNL magic pixie dust sprinkled in the title, doesn't mean much when the players and the coaches are the same. |
keep thinking that as the talents continues to decline |
