2020, actually. SJC goalie, plays at Harvard. SJC girls lax has a '23 commit to Harvard, too. And SJC has a '22 track commit to Columbia. '22 football commit to Stanford ... |
SJC athletes - students have open doors to any college they want. Those that don’t believe that are just mad they they pay too much for HS. |
| SJC has 1 Ivy League lacrosse player. The former goalie is the only one I can think of over the past 20 years. Am I missing any? |
Ha ... excellent backpedal. We all know you were trying to disparage the academic integrity of the SJC. And you just got slapped |
| This is a boys lacrosse thread why would someone mention football, track, and girls lacrosse. |
Because everyone here knows the PP had nothing to do with boys lax and had everything to do with attacking the academic strength of SJC. That's why. |
| These IAC clowns are grasping. Play SJC and win or STFU!! |
| Prep has enough 23 players that should be 22s to compete. Don’t want to hear the excuses. The team is full of seniors. |
Look - I get it. The very idea that SJC is sending kids to Harvard, Columbia, Stanford -- the best academic schools in the country -- is hard to hear. Just doesn't compute, does it. It's ok. Take a beat. Jump in the Range. Head to CCC. You'll feel better. |
This is a funny post. I would add that the Episcopal transfer only has one year of eligibility left in the state of Maryland. It will be interesting to see if he sits out this Spring and waits to play his senior season or plays this Spring and sits out his senior season. The rule will be enforced. People on here really need to stop knocking SJC's program, they have come on very strong the past 4 seasons under Speak's and it's a good thing for area HS lacrosse. My only advice to SJC is don't get too cocky, as any team can have 1 - 2 phenomenal seasons. Once you go from being the hunter to the hunted, the added pressures that you are expect to win, mentally can take their toll on teams. Every team will be circling their game against SJC this Spring as its an opportunity to play against and knock off one of the test teams in the area. (top 10 nationally too) |
Are you sure about the eligibility? Unlike many schools, Episcopal did not play any games before Covid hit in 2020. |
| It sounds like you want the player to be ineligible. |
|
the league has rules and procedures to adhere to.

Oh this is all so stupid. Who cares? HS doesn't mean jack in the long run re determining success. If you are good enough in any sport, you can go to any university you want. That is the plot. That is the advantage of being a high level athlete. It doesn't matter if it is SJC, Prep, Landon, STA, Episcopal, Bullis, Gonzaga on and on...it makes no difference to the college lacrosse coach...you know.. the guy that will offer your son a spot on his roster...
So...my decision for my son was go where he has the opportunity to play early, where the schedule is toughest and where we can get the best grades/scores. He did that and now plays at a major D1 program that is a great school. A school he could have never gotten in w/o lacrosse. Plain and simple. |
Unless you are a league administrator, or the player is your son, why are you focused on his eligibility? You sound over-invested in saying gotcha to a school that for some reason you do not like. |
