Do you have kids? Do you think what students are taught now is white-washed and nonsense?

I'd like to understand as well. I am an immigrant (brown) and kids are first gen so whatever is taught in school is what we know (apart from using our common sense, google, books, etc.). I don't recall my kids being taught anything that would in any way imply that Whites are superior and they are inferior (stated or implied). What should the kids have been taught that is not being taught?

The kids are taught Thomas Jefferson is an American hero. A known pedofile, rapist, and slave owner who tortured his slaves. I’d say this is one example of white supremacy in the schools.

He is an American hero. Kids should definitely be taught that he is.

Not for his personal life but for his importance to the country. Any person who wants to throw out Thomas Jefferson is as nutty as those sovereign citizens who want to avoid paying taxes because they want to unAmericanize themselves.

See this I’d a classic example of white supremacy. A man who had a documented inappropriate relationship with 12 year old, owned many slaves, took teeth out the mouths his slaves when a white supremacist needed them, committed many other heinous acts against man kind, and just because he committed these acts against Black people, you aren’t going to let that get in the way of this man being a hero.
He makes R Kelly look like an angel.

And MLK Jr plagiarized his dissertation and speeches, was a womanizer who constantly cheated on Coretta, and physically abused women. That said, he’s still a hero, and so is Jefferson.

Now you are just looking to slander some Black man who was an internationally recognized icon with unsubstantiated claims. There is no proof he cheated on his wife and even if he did the allegation was that it was with consenting adults. Never heard anything about the plagiarism, but he was one of the greatest speakers of all time.

Not quite sure. We have a poster who is trying to convince us how great a historical figure who was also a pedofile and some other undesirable things was and then we have some others who are willing to entertain that foolishness.

Why let facts get in the way of your opinion? King is a famous historical figure that has been under the microscope for decades, and all of this is well documented.

He wasn’t perfect, but he most definitely is still a hero… and so is Jefferson. Your prejudice doesn’t mean one gets a pass and not the other just because of the color of his skin.

There is no proof he cheated on his wife and even if he did the allegation was that it was with consenting adults. Never heard anything about the plagiarism, but he was one of the greatest speakers of all time.

This is the type of racist jargon that we are talking about. What crimes against humanity did MLK commit? Who’s human rights did he violate?

Does CRT get into degrees of how bad somebody's acts need to be before the hero title is stripped?

Who cares? A scumbag is a scumbag. Nothing TJ did excuses the fact that he was a rapist and pedofile.

Got it. So CRT will clearly be a waste of time. At least the requested answers will be so obvious, most kids will be able to sleepwalk through it.
