This is a false comparison for a couple reasons. Dave is a decent coach, but his style suits the boys better than 13 year old girls. Please don't get caught up in accolades GIVEN, as they are as good as the organization handing them out. Why isn't he having the same success on the girls side?

his coach of the year was for national high school soccer.

And his u14 girls were successful, and hes has success in the past with his girl teams as well.

I always wonder how folks in the DMV get these awards like State champs, coach of the year, All Met, etc and never have to compete against the private schools where the better talent reside. For MD All State teams, who runs that organization (not MSYSA) and what club are they affiliated with hence the bulk of players chosen are from said club.

It's the Award Nazi! The same thing works in reverse in other sports and states, believe me. Classic "I cannot feel good about my own accomplishment if other people claim something similar." If you know you're the best, you don't care, and if you do care, you probably aren't too great over the long haul

If mixed then you and your kid should decide why they’re playing and make a decision or look for a situation with two yeses.

Agreed. Many parents are looking to college $ or an admissions hook at Princeton, but the eye should stay firmly in the present!

LOL, this has gotten comical.

If you don’t like getting yelled at, go play at Metro United and get boat raced every weekend. Or have fun at a Tier II or Tier III club and play HS. If your DD manages to play in college and has not been yelled at by previous coaches, it will be a very short stint on that level...and perhaps in life. Would you rather have a thick skinned young adult or a cry baby?

Better talent in private than public schools around here? Did you think you were posting on the lacrosse forum? Otherwise that’s a fairly absurd statement.

Yes, especially for boys. I’ve watched Landon, St. Alban’s, Sidwell and Georgetown Prep play several times, and there are never more than a few highly skilled players on their teams. Whitman, Churchill, and BCC tend to have many more talented players, and they play a much better, less physical style of soccer.

Walt Whitman HS (Dave Greene) had 4 players go for D1 scholarships in 2019. Not sure on 2020.

Would anyone care to guess how many athletes got D1 scholarships from his swim team?

Ignorance is bliss and haters are going to hate. Have a nice day.

You do recognize you said 4 players right (2019)? Is that a boast to get 4 players on your roster of nearly 20 odd players to D1 programs? And of those 4 players, the club coach gets no credit right, as high school ball does so much development for kids. Sounds like your kid is a DG favorite. And who the hell is talking about DG swim coaching talent?

DG is no KL when comes to development for sure. DG yells just for the sake of it, which most times doesn't even make sense. KL yelling will make players better at the tactical awareness side of the game, and you do see results.

He sounds like he’s joysticking his players. Is he?

The Rush families have taken over DCUM. No one in their right mind would say DG yells for the sake of it.
