Heard the 08G at the very least are bringing their entire Red team. SYC added a “black” team to the coaching slate specifically for this reason.

So what happens to the current players?

2nd team, 2nd-class. Welcome to the new regime!

Have to say there’s truth to the LMVSC talk that if your child is less than red, they’ll be second-class citizens. The red team gets more practices, more players, more tournaments, more individualized attention and the best coaches. The white and blue teams have to beg for players to fill their rosters. They may not have the same team from week to week. If red players guest play - guess what? They start the game and play more than white players. Then they go on to play in their own games and tournaments. It’s very frustrating and makes it difficult to look at that over $2,000 you will be spending.

Well that may have been due to prior leadership that is no longer there. Likely to be the case going forward at syc. 05-04-03 at least 12 moving over? That’s a very generous number to make syc parents feel like their kid still has a chance.

Ya, but PP “did their homework” and hasn’t heard anything negative, so everything will be great!

I also noticed that syc pushed their tryouts back to align with LMVSC. It was previously 5/6 and now 4/30 as LMVSC has released their schedule.

Leadership still there, don't give so much credit to the old TD. He was there in a top position for only 3 years. You know who runs the show there!

SYC is a complete mess. Yesterday they posted their "coaching slate" one team at a time on social media and must have deleted posts a dozen times due to mistakes they kept publishing. For example they had one coach on there that notified them he would not be returning, yet they had him on 3 different teams. This happened all throughout the day yesterday. It felt like they were winging the whole thing and picking coaches on a giant board in the SYC office (a la fantasy draft style) and posting to social media as they went along. Coaches called them out on their mistakes and then they'd go back to the drawing board and pick other coaches.
Today they posted their tryout schedule for April/May and then promptly deleted it several minutes later! Este & Dotty really need to get it together, so unorganized, so unprofessional.

I haven't been able to find their tryout schedule at all. So it was posted, then taken down?

If anyone has a link could you please post?

For anyone interested, here are LMVSC's:

You must be one of the ones following the coaches from LMVSC to SYC. Good luck and welcome to our club.

Looks like nobody came over from LMVSC to coach a second team (Orange team). Here's some real talk: if your kid isn't already on a given coach's team (meaning that they are right now at LMVSC), and you're sitting at SYC with your kid on a Blue (1st) team thinking about how lucky you are that you're getting a new coach, prepare to be disappointed. The incoming coach of the 2003, 2004, 2005 boys teams carries at least 20 players on his roster. If only, say, 12 per team with him then that means that half of the SYC blue teams (assuming a roster of 16-18 players) is getting the axe. 12 per team might be on the low end. I've heard that the 2006 and 2007 boys red teams are also looking to switch clubs. That'll be more of a mess, because it seems like a lot of SYC players are going the other way.

Bottom line: the coaches coming in to SYC from LMVSC are good. But they're only good if you're on their team. One hallmark of Este Maldonado-led LMVSC is that the club did not care about any teams other than the top (red) teams. Can't say for sure whether that was from Este or somewhere else, but they just didn't care. So hope for that offer to be on a blue team--but if your DC isn't already on an LMVSC red team, odds ain't great.

That happens here now, with one difference, not all kids on top teams don’t belong on top teams.

I see that here as well.

According to Dotty, that is why the other coaches were fired Estes takes the lower teams and Rec serious. This was noted by his non-presence at the Rec meeting.

I wonder in a year how many promises will have been broken. 2 directors have 3 teams. TD has 2. Last one has 2 and a full time job... How in the world are these guys going to have time to help rec or lower teams?
