My guess is he's going to tear the entire thing down and say it's $10 TRILLION.
At this point, there's nothing he won't do, though I'm afraid if elected MAGA doesn't speak up soon he really will kill someone to test the boundaries. |
It was always going to be this way given the size of the ballroom. But executing the demolition while the government is closed and without any sort of public process is ridiculous. |
While it was "just announced" - anyone who saw the first images of the demolition knew the whole thing was going. |
ICE has killed people for no reason. The US military has killed people on boats for no reason. I could go on, but this has already happened. |

Do we think they actually took out the antiques and artwork before it was demolished? Jackie Kennedy had redecorated a lot of that space.
Or, did they, in spite, demolish that too? |
If they're not cheap gold-plated trinkets coveted by the greedy dragon, then yes, it was probably all bulldozed. |
| Think of all the jobs! |
Likely they just pulled the whole thing down. It is a true travesty. |

With the government unfunded and shut down, unemployment higher than we’d like, groceries incredibly expensive, farmers needing bailouts, a massive bailout going to Argentina, and tariffs destroying trade relations and raising the prices of goods, WTF does Trump think we need a massive space to honor foreign leaders??? Why would that be a high priority? Why does he think it’s desirable to have the grandest ballroom?
Trump has no idea what the rest of the world needs from the US. He wants to dazzle people with completely unnecessary splendor because spending tons of (other people’s) money is the only conceivable way he could impress others. He has no plans or even ideas. He doesn’t even understand the issues of the day or the consequences of his actions. He’s not a statesman. He doesn’t command respect. All he can do create the facade of someone who is Rich, Important, and Powerful. He is simultaneously an existential threat and an acute embarrassment. |
| After Trump’s dad was no longer lucid due to Alzheimer’s, Trump used to have fake paperwork put on his father’s desk each day so his dad could come to the office and cosplay being a businessman. This construction project does the same for Trump. “Here Donny, you get to build a building! Would you like to pick out the marble? Excellent choice! You’re very good at this.” |
I’m sure Trump and his staff took anything valuable |

Lots of US companies have done lots of dreadful things to Americans. But the symbolism of paying to destroy the White House is hard to top.
