True but Trump's 2016 victory was an anomaly. The RNC mega donors were not happy whatsoever with his nomination and this showed in his campaign funding amounts. Trump was also an anomaly in that he was willing and able to spend 66 million of his own cash on his campaign. AOC isn't campaigning with her own money and the DNC mega donors will throw a temper tantrum if she were to get anywhere close to the nomination.

Money talks which unfortunately forces politicians like AOC to walk. One day, maybe, the power will return to the people.

If only we could separate politics from governance. And let elections serve as central casting for alternative reality shows patterned after The Truman Show. I would tune in to watch AOC run against MTG. I would watch Mamdani run against Curtis Sliwa. And so on.
