A lot of Republican employers don't want it either.

Republicans included mandatory E-Verify in their border bill (HR-2) - that Democrats refused to pass.

Yet there was a bipartisan border bill in the Senate that Trump tanked. What was wrong with that bill? It was bipartisan.

A lot of Republican employers don't want it either.

Republicans included mandatory E-Verify in their border bill (HR-2) - that Democrats refused to pass.

Yet there was a bipartisan border bill in the Senate that Trump tanked. What was wrong with that bill? It was bipartisan.

Seriously? We have been through this umpteen times. There is another thread dedicated to that bill. In short, to make it "bipartisan," Republicans had to give up much of what made HR-2 so effective. Democrats totally watered it down, to the point that it was useless.

That's complete nonsense. It had the meat and potatoes, 80% what was in HR2, got rid of some of the whackadoo stuff and filled a ton of gaps and holes that were in HR2. Republicans claim it was watered down but can't give a coherent fact based explanation of how other than the false Trump propaganda that was used to kill it.

Deporting illegal aliens is democracy in action. The laws say illegal aliens shouldn't be allowed into the country. Trump wants to enforce the law with his authority. Why are you complaining?

Biden came to office and rescinded Trump EOs. Magically then Border crossings started getting out of control and even Democratic mayors and governors started complaining. Biden (and Harris) repeatedly for 3 years said that they didn’t have the power to do anything. They insisted that the situation was due to Congress’s failure to act and that only Congress could legally act.

Then the election year came around and the public didn’t blame Congress they blamed Biden for the border mess so Biden in response issued a couple EOs and then like magic, enforcement started again.

I think after that chain of events it is fair to say that the first three years of open borders and chaos is the Democrats preferred policy because that’s what they did.

Well thank God the private prison Bros are in the loop to build up some detention facilities and get billions of our tax dollars. I mean why have asylum seekers in the community working and contributing to the economy when we can just suck up an enormous amount of taxpayer dollars to keep everybody in jail.

You are impervious to objective evidence. The policy encouraged more and more border crossings of people claiming asylum, because the outcome is exactly what those people were seeking. If they were able to get lucky enough to get a free bus ride to a generous sanctuary city, they got provided free shelter and got jobs almost immediately.

You voted to spend a heck of a lot of tax dollars to put all these people in jail. Get to work because we're going to need those dollars for this detention disaster.

Having migrants in detention will save money. They will no longer be costing local communities money for public services. Trump also said he would send them back to Mexico to wait for their court date.

If the migrants are sent back to Mexico or detained and promptly removed, far fewer will come. They will not sell all of their belongings to pay a human trafficker to come here if they cannot achieve the goal they want to, which is being released into and work in this country. The migrants are not asylum seekers. They are not fleeing persecution or torture. They are purely economic migrants.

I would also like to say that. They're not making any contribution to the economy or paying any taxes when they're sitting in jail. They're sucking up all my tax money.

Go to emergency rooms in certain areas and see the amount of uncompensated care. Look at the number of motorists getting into accidents without insurance in comparison to 20 years ago. The costs are everywhere, but the data isn't collected, so Dems pretend those costs don't exist.

Okay match it up against all of the tax money collected and boost to the economy and see how it comes out. Do you know how expensive it is to keep someone in jail. A heck of a lot more than some ER bills.

If we want to change the asylum system then let's change the asylum system. I think spending billions and billions of dollars on detention facilities is a stupid way to do it.

I don't support jailing them. I support a far harsher response to people who illegally enter the country.

Well, the Trump voters voted for massive detention facilities and those are really expensive.

I voted for no open borders, turn away all illegals, no asylum country shopping, no birth citizenship.
