Don’t kid yourself. He was run out of office by his own party.

This! He's been in his basement with "covid" under high pressure for a while now to drop out. Not sure how they even convinced Jill.

Jill has a lot to answer for. Shame on both of them.

+1. He ran as a one term, bridge to a younger generation POTUS. That was the promise. Like Pelosi did when she was speaker. She got the AOCs to vote for her by promising one term, then a handover to. Someone like Jefferies. Difference is Pelosi actually stepped down after her term was over as promised. And Biden didn’t. And as a Gen X Dem, that did make me angry. He was over 80 and still couldn’t let go. Like RBG. And like so many of Gen X’s parents, who say they will quit driving when they turn 80, or when it’s no longer safe. And then an accident happens that is 100% their fault and almost certainly caused by their slow reaction time or failing hearing and vision or whatever. And thank God no one was actually hurt. But, the parent is still grasping the license insisting it could have happened to anyone and driving is still safe. And you get that it’s a loss of pride and independence and feel bad, but reality is people get older and frailer and can’t do at 80 what they could at 50.

No one is exempt from aging. And at a certain point, everyone who lives long enough starts a slow decline. As a voter, I felt like he had made and broken a one term promise. And I’m glad he’s stepping aside, because if he won’t let go at 80 or 81, do we think he would at 83 or 84, midterm with obvious physical or mental issues? I don’t. He could have been worse than Reagan and hanging on. Same goes for Trump, BTW.

But wow! I wish he had kept this promise a year ago, so we could have had a real primary. He earned a lot of respect in my mind for cleaning up after Trump and getting us moving again after COVID. But also lost respect when he announced reelection. I had thought he had the character to follow through with his promises.

Please provide a link to the video where Biden said he would be a one-term president.

(hint, you can't)

No one would go into the job as a lame duck from the outset. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this weekend had been targeted to pull out, regardless of the debate fiasco.

DP and I agree with the PP 1000%. And Biden didn't have to be a lame duck President. He could have announced at the last minute in the primaries.

You're not helping anyone by refusing to deal in facts.

Now he’s gone and the GOP is saddled with a mush brained traitor.

Feels like karma

The GOP has the full backing of the media and most of the billionaires, but there’s a long way between here and November and Trump’s dementia isn’t going to get better. It does indeed feel like karma

Are you saying Biden has dementia?

He will finish the term. Do you want Mike Johnson as VP?

Talk about putting a target on Kamala's back, sheesh.

Uh, she appoints her VP. Not congress.

If Joe were to resign right now, Kamala would be president. Check the 25th Amendment for who becomes VP.

(not the VP candidate, just VP for the balance of the term)

Hahahahahaha
That woman is a moron. She will do nothing but embarrass herself. She will fall out of that coconut tree for sure.

She was smart enough to become the candidate of the most popular party in the US to become president. I would say she is doing pretty well for herself.

No, you don’t understand. She was strictly a DEI pick …. nothing more, Nothing Less!

That alone is a massive turn off to a huge number of voters. She's never known what it is like to be a mother of her own kids and had to make sacrifices to make a career and family work.

A presidential candidate who doesn't have kids is just unelectable in this country. It's the way it is.

She has step kids. Are you asserting that’s not real?

Are you kidding? He specifically said in 2020 that he would *only* run as a one-term president. Then his ego got the better of him and he reneged on that. He might have had something of a “legacy” had he kept his word and allowed someone else to run in 2024. Instead, his legacy will be as a stubborn, diminished old man who had to be pushed out of the race.

No, never actually said that. What he said is that he would be a bridge to the next generation. He absolutely never said he would be a one-term president.

He said everything but a literal “pledge,” leading Americans to assume he was only running to beat Trump and would then move on. C’mon, man.

In April, when asked whether he would serve just one term, Biden responded, “No.” More recently, Biden has been ambiguous. In October, The Associated Press reported that when “asked whether he would pledge to only serve one term if elected, Biden said he wouldn’t make such a promise but noted he wasn’t necessarily committed to seeking a second term if elected in 2020.”

So, no, he never said he would only be a one term president.

And the fact is, if the Senate had done its job in the February 2021 impeachment or the judiciary had done its job this year, Biden would not have run because Trump would not have been in the race.

Ummmm no. I’m a lawyer who actually watched Senate Judiciary Hearings. She may not pass the “do you want to drink beer with her” test. And that could be an issue. Hoping her time as VP has honed some of her softer skills. But, she is most definitely not stupid or inarticulate. In fact, she is very, very sharp. Ask Beer Bong Brett if you don’t believe me.

She may be smart in person but she comes across as rambling and an intellectual lightweight in public events.

Unlike this fine oratory specimen:

"And then I say - and I don't think there's anything wrong with this because it's an analogy - if there's a shark about 10 yards away, 'do I get electrocuted or do I go with the shark? ' I would take electrocution all day long"

Remember when Nikki Haley handed out copies of the mental competency test Trump kept bragging about and it was basically like the back of a kids menu at Denny’s that comes with a pack of crayons

Will donate to Harris as soon as she gets the official nomination as a sign of my support. All you people who won't vote for Harris because she's not white and a woman were already voting for Trump, so don't try to kids yourselves. She will crush him.

Hoo boy. Never change, Democrats.

Joe Biden is going to be so mad when he wakes up from his nap this afternoon to find out he dropped out of the race.

It’s time for us to do what we have been doing, and that time is every day!

‘I do believe that we should have rightly believed, but we certainly believe that certain issues are just settled

We will assist Jamaica in COVID recovery by assisting in terms of the recovery efforts in Jamaica…

The significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time…

And my favorite, unburdened by what might have been! (Over and over and over)

Politics is a nasty, nasty game. Never fear, both Joe and Jill will get $$$$$$$$ for their memoirs and Jill, at least, will name all the "elites" and tell all their dirty little tricks.

Why doesn’t Biden do right thing and step down and make her the President?
