He was an adult….

Yes he is… but he is still a mother’s son.

And you think that mother can "let him" go on a trip vs "not let him" go on a trip?

If I didn’t want my 19 year old son to do something that cost $250K - I could, I dunno, not give him the $250K.

Lol. You think his mother provided the 250k?

The father allowed this. Unfortunately the mom was not allowed a say.

And how do you know this?

Daily mail. OP and I are both embarrassed to say we read it.

Who does t read it these days? It scoops quite a lot of the news.

Praying for a miracle.

Could it possibly be from the vessel at the surface? That’s like their only hope

I was thinking the same thing.

Our Coast Guard and tons of other military resources are being used to find them. I feel the same way about people who voluntarily choose to hike in dangerous areas or climb Mt. Everest. They should have to sign a waiver beforehand, agreeing that they take full responsibility and will not expect a rescue mission should something go wrong.

Or people who refuse to evacuate during a hurricane but then need rescuing putting first responders at risk. But we are a human society so we make every attempt to save a life no matter who is at fault.

It’s wrong to pick on them though I do think it’s relevant. Bring rich gives people access to do some risky things that make them feel special: Private planes, trips into space, race cars, the depths of the sea…and they do a lot of these things without the knowledge or respect for the seriousness of the adventures.

I’m married to a not rich pilot. I can tell you I would never fly in a private plane and I would never think I could fly myself to my cousins wedding at night. Because I understand the training needed and how important is. Their confidence and money sometimes kill them.

The rich people are the reason this trip could take place, which was not just a sightseeing tour, it’s other purpose is to monitor the titanic site from a preservation and identification perspective.

BS. The wreck has been down there for over a century. What “preservation and identification” needs to be done now?

It's disintegrating. Soon it will be gone, by 2030 according to one estimate.

So what? Why do people need to go down to the bottom of the ocean in a submarine? It can be documented with machines ie the ones seen in the titanic movie.

Additionally, it’s a shipwreck from 110 years ago. Why does it need be revisited at this point?

Why do people insist on visiting those pesky pyramids? Extremely dangerous in Egypt.

Why do all those people go to Israel to visit those sites, don’t they know how dangerous it is on that plot of land?

Oh lord are you the person that is terrible with analogies? If not, you have an identical twin on this thread.

Neither of your examples are comparable to what these people did.

Great analogies and trust me going to those countries can be just as dangerous as traveling to the bottom of the ocean if not more so.

There are many risk averse DCUM people who could never imagine traveling to the Middle East or Mongolia or Pakistan.

No King Crab leg, traveling to the pyramids and Israel are not as dangerous if not more so. There is zero to trust with you because you cannot provide a proper analogy. You don’t even understand what that means.

Is your last name Gorga-Guidice-Ruelas?

You cannot explain why you don’t agree with the analysis only to say the PP is wrong. You are just jealous of people and that is okay. Goodbye troll you won’t get responded to again which is all you want.

Yes, we’re all jealous of people dying crammed into a 9 X 8 foot can because they have money they’ll never use again. What a genius you are.

Even with banging sounds being heard, without a tether, how would they even be able to lift the submissive? They said there are no hooks or areas for divers to access on the exterior

As posted before. This is what the coast guard does. As another poster said before, crab fisherman is one of the deadliest jobs in the world and routinely the coast guard has to rescue them so you can eat your crab legs.

You mean as you posted before. You’re the bad analogy poster that keeps popping up with stupid statements.

It really doesn’t matter. I don’t think there’s a way to get them up or out. I hope they have Valium and/or sleeping pills and the ceo told them they have enough oxygen for 4 days so they aren’t aware of what’s actually happening when they become oxygen deprived.

Why would they have sleeping pills for what was supposed to be a 3 hour tour?

Same reason why astronauts get suicide pills when they go on a mission.

Also I thought it was 3 hours to get down there. Then assuming they tour around a bit and 3 hours back. Not to nitpick.

🎶a three hour tour, a three hour tour 🎶

I am old enough to get this reference, and this sent me into the kind of inappropriate fit that sometimes happens when I am in the midst of a highly stressful tense and high stakes situation.

How many people died visiting the pyramids in the past year?

They were going down 13,000 feet. I think divers can only go to like 300 feet. Or do you mean if the vessel is near the surface?

How many have died visiting the titanic in the past year? Now that banging has been heard in the area, all those posters who swore up and down they were dead and the vehicle imploded are looking mighty foolish!
