Angel’s arrogance is next level. She comes off as fake-confident like an insecure, petulant teen. She’ll be like this even when she’s 40. Insecure women who pretend to be confident by constantly posturing and running their mouth are the worst.

She literally changed the WH decision and had a 1st lady apologize to her.

It was never a WH decision, it was an offhand comment by the First Lady.

And she changed it. And got an apology. Pointed out the racism in the comment. She was right, everyone agreed.

How is suggesting the inclusion of two fantastic teams racist?

I honestly think it would be nice to acknowledge both teams. Why not?

The losing team got blown out. What was so special about this team that should be the first runner up in history to go to the White House? The only reason is that they are white and it’s obvious, but it’s not a big deal. She was just being white.

Why assume race?

My assumption is Jill wanted to be inclusive and elevate women’s college basketball.

The president can and has broken with tradition to create new traditions. It’s sad that this has been labeled as racist…by a young woman who clearly sees racism everywhere. Can’t say I blame her. Angel was raised near Baltimore, a city where racial lines are drawn and the black community feels left behind. Jada similarly sees race in everything thanks to her Baltimore upbringing.

I don't think anybody thinks the Biden's are racist, except for Angel and Angel's friend in this thread. But nobody ever accused these folks of being the sharpest knives in the proverbial drawer.

People absolutely do think Biden is racist. He has a long history of questionable comments.

Throughout his political career, President Biden himself has had a history of saying racist things about Black people: The "you ain't black" comment. The "Black people are not diverse" comment. The "racial jungle" comment. The "Republicans are going to put y'all back in chains" comment. The "Obama is the first mainstream African American who is articulate, bright and clean" comment. And because of a compliant corporate media and the lack of competition for our votes, he gets away with it.

I believe Angel launched a mutiny. She obviously has a strong personality and isn’t shy about speaking up. I think she spewed negativity and some followed her.

The Lady Terps coach is widely known as a team builder. She expects everyone to do their best together. If you deliver, you play. If you are tired, you sit. Angel simply didn’t want to be told what to do.

And perhaps the latest media coverage coupled with Angel’s own words prove that she is a woman who sees race and racism in everything. That’s sad. It’s a heckuva way to go through life.

Frese is living off of past glory and has been for years. I guess MD basketball is ok with irrelevance as long as the Big10 checks roll in

My two cents: given that Frese took her team to the Elite 8 despite losing Angel and a handful of other top players seems to indicate she is a gifted coach who leads a *team* to excellence.

I think society is growing tired of people like Angel. I suspect Frese will continue to recruit well and produce talented players. She’s had a lot of players go to the WNBA.

Stanford had the #1 recruited player last year, a #1 seed in the tournament and guess what? She has entered the transfer portal. It’s a new day in college sports with the portal and NIL deals.

But she only played 10 minutes a game despite being really efficient and was stuck behind the same players that would be there next year. Angel had good PT at Maryland.

Because Diamond Miller was injured last year.
