We swapped cars today and when I got in, I reached over to close the opened glove compartment and found it there. I hardly ever drive his car or sit in it as a passenger since we have kids and I'm not sure how long it's been there. I don't know to think or if I should confront him or how to confront him. The condom has an expiration date of 10/2016, we've been married for 8 years and our youngest is barely 2. We've been busy with kids but he had a period of unemployment, totaled his SUV and we've been exclusively using my car when going out as a family.
I'm so confused right now. |
| LOL. Why don't you just ask him? |
| He cheated. Check his phone and computer. |
|
Well I doubt that condoms have an expiration period of 8 years, so it's time for a major talk.
At least he was safe??! I'm sorry. |
|
Can't imagine why he would have a condom when he's been married for 8 years.
Don't confront, look for more evidence. If he's this sloppy with a condom and he's cheating, there's way more evidence if you know to look. |
|
Oh and THEN you confront.
Alternately, bluff. Throw the condom on the table and say "And I found the rest. How painful do you want this to be?" He will fold like a deck of cheap cards if he thinks you have more and he's guilty. |
+1. |
| How long has he had his car and was it a new car? |
What's funny about this? It's potentially devastating to OP. |
| Was it Jon Voight's car? |
| Do not say anything as badly as you may want to. Dig further. Computer history, phone records, etc. |
|
More details about his use of that particular car, please. Also, how much opportunity does he get, in terms of work hours and travel? I would be concerned, honestly, and I would scrounge around for more info before making noises. |
|
I am sorry.
A couple of years before my mom died I went to get my dad's car registration out of his glove compartment so she could finish some paperwork. I opened the glove compartment and at least a dozen wrapped condoms fell out.
She said she would put the registration back but I hung around and did it for her so she wouldn't see what was inside. As far as I know she didn't find out before she died. I have only shared this info with one of my siblings, and this was several years after she passed away. I am sorry OP. That is a shocking thing to find in the car. |

Agree with PPs. Do more research before you confront him. Has anyone else driven his car? Did he loan it to a younger relative or co-worker?
I wouldn't jump to conclusions, but do a bit of sleuthing first before you talk with him. |
Some men use condoms with forms of maturation too. Not saying your DH isn't going to turn out to be a lying cheater, but I'd require more evidence than an odd condom. |
