What's worked for you? It's back and I don't want to start on meds again if I can avoid it. Too many side effects.

Fish oil. Magnesium. Getting enough sleep. Using a light to combat seasonal affective disorder. Adaptogens like rhodiola and holy basil.

I found meds prescribed by a psychotherapist worked really well in conjunction with talk therapy.

Holy basil and other stuff that you buy on the shelf is mostly filler and nonsense, honestly.

Someone just said it is a vitamin D deficiency. I have been taking megadoses of vitamin D and a stress B. It almost instantaneously helped my depression and anxiety.

Lots of connections between inflammation and depression. Have you looked into anti-inflammation diet info?

1. Meditation
2. Herbal tea - St. John's wort and Chamomile
3. Less social media (especially Facebook)
4. CBT techniques
5. Magnesium through Magnesium oil or Magnesium supplements
6. For depression - Bright light therapy in the morning

GABA, try relax max. Cherry flavor. Dr suggested it and it works great. Cut out sugar, eat regular meals, get plenty of sleep consistently, avoid alcohol, regular exercise, frees hair and sun every day. Meditation.

Ditto to the Vitamin D and B complex camp. I take 5,000 IU of D and notice a huge improvement within just a few days. (I often feel better and then get lax about remembering to take it.)

If your bloodwork is normal for vit D, should you be taking vit D supplements? Thought this was a fat soluble vitamin?
