Gaza war and College Campus Protests

Israel just seriously injured a member of Lebanon’s women’s national soccer team in a bombing strike in Beirut. I am not sure why any Israeli athlete should be allowed to play in any venue under the Israeli flag until the Jews there stop their barbaric behavior. Any such athletes should be barred from competition or boycotted.

We can whine about it all we want but we not going to war to help Hamas retain control over Gaza. I don't know that they will push all the west bank Palestinians into Syria, I suspect those with work visas into Israel will get to stay.

No in to camps and they will be killed there. Boxcars are lining up now.

That would expensive. Much cheaper and easier to just push them into Egypt.

Hamas FAFO.

Um, how? Egypt has fortified their side of the boarder to a crazy degree and put up a new wall controlled by the Egyptian army on Egyptian land. Egypt won't take Palestinians.

That is Hamas’ problem to figure out. Israel will no longer just let these intruders trespass on their Jewish ancestral homeland.

That's a very racist statement. Should Ireland not allow Buddhists or Muslims to "trespass" on their Catholic ancestral homeland? And I'm sure the Proud Boys and the KKK would say the same about letting "intruders" of color "trespass" in the U.S. The Palestinians have lived on that land since time immemorial. It is racist and unjust to ethnically cleanse them, which has been Israel's strategy from the start.

And not only racist, but unspeakably narcissistic and ethnocentric!!!

1) Who are the real "intruders" (hint: who began arriving from Europe after Zionism developed, although their ancestors had not lived on that land in many centuries, many of whom were far more genetically European than Middle Eastern?)?

2) Whose "ancestral homeland" is it really (hint: whose ancestors had lived there in continuity from Old Testament times until they were brutally exterminated or expelled during the Nakba?)? Even the Bible (not that it's historically accurate in any way) says there were people living in what is now Israel before the descendants of Abraham moved in and, according to the old biblical stories (which are fabrications) did what they're doing today.

We can't make policy and justify genocide based on a book (the Old Testament) that should never be understood literally. It is mythological. Much of it was written during the Babylonian Captivity, thousands of years after these supposed events took place. The authors made stuff up. No, God did not give that land to anyone. No, God did not tell the Israelites, "Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys." Verses of that sort are used by very evil people to justify today's genocide in Gaza, the ethnic cleansing of the Nakba, and every atrocity in between.

We can all follow Abrahamic religions without being fundamentalist biblical literalists. Those stories are just that -- mythologies, figments of the imagination. One can be a Jew, Christian, or Muslim while accepting that Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Noah, Moses, and all the rest almost certainly never existed, and, even if they did, the stories about them are entirely fictional.

When an evil racist says "Israel will no longer just let these intruders trespass on their Jewish ancestral homeland," we need to remind them of the history and the facts.

The number of American Jews who defend the blatant genocide by Israel and the craven American politicians of both parties who suck at the teat of AIPAC is going to get the United States internationally isolated and eventually nuked. I just hope we don’t feel the same pain as the poor Palestinians when we are nuked into oblivion.

Quite so. Amazing # of terror apologists here. Not a one calls for the surrender of Hamas and Hezbollah, and the release of hostages; all the violence against Israel is Israel's fault because the territory is claimed to be an ancestral homeland and killing civilians to reclaim it is perfectly fine.

Is that bolded part intended to be ironic?

Sadly, Israel has probably killed many of the hostages by strangling supplies of food and medicine into Gaza. Israel uses starvation as a weapon of war (a war crime). Sinwar's autopsy revealed he had not eaten anything for three days, so one can imagine how little food must be available for the hostages.

Being nuked would be a much quicker and less painful death than the deaths Palestinians are suffering. Many of them are dying in the most tortuous ways.

What type of religion would justify what Israel has done.

Ireland is not a Catholic homeland.

Founding any nation on blood rights to the soil pretty much just leads to civil war, killing your neighbors, and the kind of casual careless racist ignorance you're displaying right here.

The top Islamic scholar in Gaza put out a statement earlier this month blasting Hamas for the October 7 attack.

I'm impressed the BBC reported it since they have a lot of anti-Israel bias.
