We asked our son’s coach and he didn’t even know if he was still coaching the team next year.

HAHA that tracks at Valor.

Not every club announces staff early.

The ID sessions were for the super y teams, which they have named the coaches for

I believe they already held ID sessions for boys RL teams. No coaches listed.

They weren't iD sessions. They were advertised as "Tryouts" for HS boys RL teams with no information on the coaches. Last weekend.

Did anyone go? Were there a lot of boys there?

What is up with clubs holding tryouts without announcing coaches first? It's not just Valor this year. Don't they know that's like the most important factor in the decision? Literally have an offer for a team without knowing who the coach will be, and a tryout for another team tonight with no coaches yet announced.

its a red flag to me. Like they know the coach they are going to assign is disliked or underqualified and are trying to hide that until after you commit.

Valor’s FB still has “we’re hiring soccer coaches” post (from back in December) still pinned to the top of their page.

I've heard they try and lowball new coaches.

its really late to not even have try out dates posted. Even if you do try outs late to try to get the kids who didn't make the other teams to fill your rosters, its late to not have a schedule out.

I am so tired of being treated this way by clubs. They want us (our children) to assume all the risk while they assume none. This whole "once you accept the offer you have to pay for the full year", while they can change the things that made you sign on in the first place, is just completely ridiculous.

Agree. You are locked in for the full year but the coach can quit at any time with no penalty.

I think it is very unusual to have RL team tryouts without even posting the coaches.
Who is picking the teams????
