This is the 1st year for Aspire. Aspire only represents the girls side, where ECNL RL represents the boys and girls sides and has been around for much longer. SYC's 2012, 2013 and 201 Aspire teams are exceptionally strong and will likely all participate in the national championship. Every league has teams in the bottom of the standings, but its the up and down the board for all age groups (both male and female in the ECNL RL Case) that you can look at to determine if the Club maybe should not be in a certain league. Also, it undermine's the credibility of a league if they claim to be a high level league and yet, do not hold clubs accountable for poor performance. Right now, you can really gauge the bottom level performers in ECNL RL, but it would be hard to single out a whole club in Aspire as bottom level performer. |
Thank you! I appreciate your response. It's challenging to sort through this along with the age group changes. Next season will be interesting. |
2nd teams are always going to be hit or miss. This is because if a player does well they either get pulled up to the top team in their club or they leave and join a top team at another club. Every year is different which means theres no consistency. As an example if SYC has a 2nd team thats doing well. Its like a dinner bell to all the top team coaches in the area looking for talent. |
Those teams are not getting kicked out. Over the past 2 years RL has added LMVSC, DCSC, VIVA and Herndon. To me that signals ECNL leadership views RL as a second tier platform and one that is meant to allow more clubs to have a “top” team. And leagues like that are needed. If you want the most competitive you need to play ECNL or GA. Don’t stay in RL and complain about the talent level. |
sadly usually to move up off 2nd team you have to switch clubs |
Baha. Didnt pipeline 11s lose to Delco like 12-0? Tough to call that an Elite league |
no that is TOTAL D1 |
Does this hold true for goalkeepers? I've heard it is easier for them to move between teams, especially on the GA side since that position isn't held to the same game/minutes allowed in one weekend. |
several clubs over the last few years have been booted out of RL |
Who has been booted out and on what basis? Am worried about this happening to DC’s club. |
| Oklahoma celtic to GA… wow big time stealing an RL club. |
Very few ECNL teams would take the risk of leaving for GA as it would hurt their bottom line. Going from RL to GA is a step up. |
ranked 14th, 13th, 9th, 4th, 10th, and 6th out of 16th teams in their respective RL divisions. Massive pickup. |
Boys are 7th, 19th, 20th, 13th, 17th and 10th. Again with the MASSIVE PICKUP |
I think one of their boys teams won the ECNL RL National Championship. |
