Biden’s economy

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed Friday the unemployment rate was 3.7% down from 3.9% in October, while US economy added 199,000 jobs, an uptick from the previous month as striking auto workers and Hollywood actors came back to the workforce.

Economists surveyed by Bloomberg expected job gains of 185,000 with unemployment holding steady from the prior month at 3.9%.

The GOP continues to try the claim the economy is for crap and yet, there has not been a report or quarter under Biden that hasn't been remarkably better than under Trump.

And...

So basically, American is at work, inflation is now at zero growth, and prices on many fronts are returning to where they were. In some cases, they won't return, but that isn't the fault of a president.

Voters don't reward good policy. They want to be entertained.

Front page in yesterday’s NYT was a story fretting about Biden being too old to run for President.

It’s unconscionable at this point.

Inflation is double the highly manipulated government cpi. That’s why people’s lifestyle is getting crushed.

Link? My lifestyle is not getting crushed at all. Gas is down - food and durable goods have have gotten more expensive, but most professionals have gotten some big raises that more than make up for it. Just look at the new biglaw salary scales that have come out. $455K for a fifth year associate! Thanks Biden!

It's okay to praise and/or appreciate Biden for his service as POTUS and to also realize that the odds of him continuing at an acceptable standard of mentally and physically fitness while serving a second term aren't very good. The stress of the job itself ages people at an accelerated rate. The same could obviously be said for Trump. If it comes down to a choice between Trump and Biden, I will understand a voters logic in voting for Biden but when I look at and listen to them now, I can't for the life of me imagine how anyone could be confident in their ability to perform this very important and demanding job until January 2029. We are currently in December of 2023, Trump or Biden in January 2029??!! Oh dear heavens. NYT may not necessarily be pre-Biden but they are a left leaning media source. Perhaps they realize that a majority opinion in America of Biden being too old to serve a second term is the only thing giving Trump a chance at winning in 2024. That majority opinion isn't going anywhere whether or not we like it or agree with it.

It’s laughable that anyone would whine about Biden’s age while not acknowledging that Trump is just as old.

Trump is basically just as old as Biden and he also doesn't have the integrity and temperament a president must have. Both will be zombies by 2029.

Shadow stats uses the formula prior to 1990s when they changed it and rigged it to downplay real life inflation

Actual inflation is much higher than the government friendly cpi ( government grades itself lol)

Sure bud. If this was actually true, then you'd see the bond market adjusting things for TIPs and other implied inflationary forecasts. Go back to your fetid conspiracy theory chamber. This nonsense has been circulating for years.

The Fed will over factor in the drop in nonessential stuff to pretend inflation is ok.

Prices are out of control on essential purchases.

Essential purchases like gasoline?

But it isn’t. The media fell over themselves to praise him for “his” economy, but Biden never gets any credit for steering us out of the deep freeze Trump steered us into. And all the media can talk about is Biden’s age, never Trump’s. Trump is basically as old and in far worse condition physically and mentally. Never comes up. No one ever talks about Trump’s doddering self.

But they sure don’t want to give any credit to Biden. That much is fact, no matter how hard you try to make us talk about other stuff, the media is trying to elect Trump.

Neither deserve all that much credit or blame for the economy in the short term. Both are too to old to be trusted with the POTUS position through 2029. Is what it is.
