I respect the concept, but I think if your community resorts to a petition, the communication/sense of community is broken.

I have gone to my child's principal with my thoughts. Got warm feedback, with no admonishment or endorsement.

My children were told they must mask up to protect their teachers (many of whom are in high risk groups-and have no say over what happens in their workplace). Also, to avoid have to quarantine, they did multiple times last year.

My child said they understood, and added that they don't want to play with the kids who won't wear masks.

Those who choose not have their children in a mask will be the people who remove the option to learn in person for those who wear masks.

(Although I heard it was 3 feet and not 6, but with increased enrollment, 3 feet still means "the next desk over" in 6 directions.)

My friend's class has 5 positive cases.

Sounds like masking wasn’t working anyway.

The principals have been wonderful. Their hands are tied. You have to go to diocese as the diocese made this decision.

My children are so excited to go to school without masks and experience a step closer to a “normal” day for the first time in almost 2 years!

Smiling faces all around tonight at the news that they can stop wearing masks all day every day.

My kids will be keep far far away from those that are unmasked a only care about themselves. We don’t need any more death in our family due to covid.

All schools have had outbreaks - will masks. I still believe they help but they don’t prevent transmission. Again, most students will be in a mask for a few more weeks. Parents are reasonable, but as number drop in this area kids should start removing them.

England removed mask mandate for schools a few days ago also.

Those over 12 have been vaccinated for 7 months but still masked. That age group wants out. I’m not sure they will remain masked

How is a school different from adults required to mask - airport, grocery, etc.
