Of course Trump will win. And there’s nothing sad about it. He’s the only thing standing between us and the total anarchy that is currently on display.

Do you have a death wish for our country, PP?

The country has descended into anarchy under Trump's watch. This is his fault for stoking the fires of racism and bigotry. Crime has gone up, poverty has increased exponentially, jobless rates are through the roof. All under Trump's leadership vacuum. We need Biden to restore order.

PP - is this what you thought during Ferguson (and accompanying) riots, Baltimore riots and Charlottesville riots? Did you feel that Obama stoked the fires of racial division? Many people do, look at the surveys on racial division at the beginning and end of Obama's administration. You think Biden and his "he's gonna put you in chains" and "You ain't black" statements are what we need to restore order and unify the people?

And come on, you are going to blame the increase in poverty and unemployment due to COVID on Trump?

Obama “caused” racial division because was black and people were racist. There’s literally no question that Trump made it worse.

She wasn’t touched. She said she felt safe.

This rape analogy is wrong.

I have been the victim of non-consensual acts and it is a strong analogy. It does not just apply to women. To men and children as well. To invade anyone's space and "demand" they consent is rapey. That's a fact.

Unless someone touched her, in the court of law it can’t be assault. No one even spat on her, they had masks on.

It was threatening yes. Uncomfortable- most definitely. Triggering, sure.

But it was not rapey. And she is no snowflake.

I think people want to draw her out as a victim. But what she showed here was either assholery or strength. We are all apparently choosing sides here: but let’s be clear-

She was there with her friend.
Her friend put her fist up and she didn’t.
She states she didn’t feel threatened and she supports blm.
She felt it was wrong what the mob was doing but didn’t feel unsafe.

I personally think she has ODD and masks it well usually. But also, this was stupid. Not only did her dinner get ruined, today is too. Potentially her life.

And is that lawsuit possible? Probably not. Who would she sue? The restaurant? The movement? WaPo?

Assault does not need touching. Battery does. You can be "assaulted" but only fear imminent touching.

But she states she wasn’t afraid.

On the record with WaPo.

I think we really want to play her as the victim. I think she might have been the instigator here too. She can be both.

She was eating dinner at a restaurant, surrounded by a mob that demanded she raise her fist. She doesn’t comply with their orders, and you’re trying to paint her as an instigator?! That is absolutely Orwellian. I am blown away that someone could think like this. How did we get here?

There is so much sensitivity around using federal LEOs because of Trump’s actions earlier this year. Every single thing he has done has inflamed tensions instead of calming them.

.

This had been building long before 2020. You just didn’t want to see it.

I have never heard of people being verbally assaulted at restaurants...well, now that you mention it, Republican politicians were in 2019. But I have never seen 'civilians' assaulted with impunity until this year.

They were also being attacked and targeted because of their race.

Biden isn't going to do much but return Obama's good policies which will take the entire 4 years.

Obama is an amazing speaker and community organizer but when he got to office he did none of that and didn't use his previous focus of bringing people together which was really disappointing. Biden isn't going to be able to tame or get logic into any of the crazies on both sides.

What? Did that answer the question?

People don't like Trump because he is Trump. But what did he do to make racism worse?

Oh, and I had never heard that President Obama 'caused' racial division. I heard what the other person did. The US is post racial. Heck there are WaPo headlines claiming as much.

It is disingenuous to say you aren’t sure what Trump did to make racism worse. There are so many examples.

1) Charlottesville, a peaceful protest interrupted by racists carrying torches; where one young woman was run over by a racist. Trump’s response “there were good people on both sides”

2) calling African countries “sh#tholes“

3) Trump on Mexican immigrants “ When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”

4) Trump to Governor Whitmer on armed protestors storming the Statehouse, “The governor of Michigan should give a little, and put out the fire,” the president wrote in a tweet on Friday morning. “These are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely! See them, talk to them, make a deal.”

5) Trumps response to BLM in Lafayette Square - gas them

6) Muslim Ban

7) Fail to unify all Americans and caters only to his base. Just ask Former Trump Defense Secretary Mattis how Trump is responsible for the current unrest: “Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us,” Mattis writes. “We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children.”

Trump made it okay to be an extremist with questionable mental health and no morality. So here are all the other maladjusted extremists showing up to the party. Is anyone surprised? Why would anyone vote for 4 more years of this crap?

I am a HUGE President Obama guy, but it was President Obama that started this unilateral, no consensus behavior. Somebody mentioned it earlier, the leadership by executive order was the beginning of the end.
