Harassing Columbia Heights diners

I think these events are opening the eyes of so many and pulling those who listen to stand with those who are fighting for a better way. No other country has been built on the level of systemic racism we have here. It’s time to change for the better.

If you see an opportunity to march with those protesting for Black Lives Matter, how could you just sit there in comfort instead of standing up and marching with them?

There is a difference between choosing to join a group and participate and having a group with bullhorns come up to you and demand that you show your solidarity. I am a BLM supporter, but I wouldn’t want somebody to force me to do that. I also wouldn’t want somebody to come up to me and demand I make a white power hand gesture.

Change needs to be built with hearts and minds. Change by force is not going to work.

You need to get out of your bubble and open your eyes. This isn’t even close to reality.

This is the best country in the world for immigrants and people with all skin colors with a bit of hustle.

Our DC police are, if anything, super easygoing. Too much in fact, esp when it comes to car and property crime. That being said, there is so very little "tension" between them and residents in ANY Ward. If you listen to residents and their reps in higher crime wards, their complaint is they want to see more policing. That is FACT. It makes me really sad to see some loony antifa brats trying to blind them. For what?

Well the mayor supports the police and doesn't support "defunding" so don't worry. In any event, the protests are a result of snuff films -- the murder of people at the hands of the police. Everyone should be rioting in the streets over that. It's dangerous to have police execute people instead of arrest them.

We are a nation divided. The country and our ability to communicate with each other is a mess. Get that orange clown out of office so we can live as one nation again.

What? Have you ever stepped foot in another country? Do you own a passport? Have you ever put down Twitter and read a book. You are embarrassing yourself.

6) Muslim Ban

I am a Muslim American. Nobody told me that I have to leave. I have never had any trouble returning to the US. My last entry back to the US was in July. Have I been banned and don't know about it. There were no signs at Dulles.

You don’t need to leave because you are an American. Do you know nothing about the bill? It was banning IMMIGRANTS from majority Muslim countries, including Syrian refugees. Do your research before you comment and spout off.

How DARE this Muslim American speak his/her mind and blow up your narrative

Umm. I’m going to correct someone spreading false information regardless of who they are. I know you Trumpers absolutely hate that. The person denied there is a Muslim Ban. I’m am informing them that yes, there was one, until it was ruled unconstitutional. And I was explaining who the target was since they obviously didn’t know. No one’s blowing up my narrative, Kelly Anne.

They are politicians. They have a lot more in common than you think. You can hate Trump. But don't think he is doing anything unique here.

Uh, duh to the bolded. That's why it's referred to as the Muslim ban.

It's a fallacy t call it a "Muslim ban" when you'd be hard pressed to find a Muslim in some oof these countries.

The Trump administration is expanding its travel ban by restricting travel from six countries, citing security risks, the Department of Homeland Security announced Friday.

The countries — Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania — join seven other nations, five with Muslim majorities, that were already part of a Trump administration's travel ban announced in 2017. All of the newly named countries except Myanmar have Muslim populations of 35 percent or more.

The new restrictions only cover some immigrant categories, targeting visa holders who want to live in the U.S. The 2017 travel ban was broader, restricting people who wanted to travel to the U.S. as well as other visa categories.

That ban applied to people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen — all predominantly Muslim countries — as well as North Korea and Venezuela and was held up by the Supreme Court in 2018.

The security risks cited for the new restrictions differed for each country. The administration cited reasons from poor cooperation with Interpol to bad tracking to "deficiencies" related to transitioning away from military rule.

When Trump first introduced his unconstitutional Executive Order it was called a Muslim Ban. He had to keep making changes to it as it was unconstitutional and threats evolved. You are posting about the evolution of the original Executive Order.

Your own words are “ join seven other nations, FIVE WITH MUSLIM MAJORITIES, THAT WERE ALREADY PART of a TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TRAVEL BAN announced in 2017”. Please don’t try to obfuscate.

Did protestors outside the WH really attack the RNC speaker who Trump pardoned? Alice Johnson?? That's like attacking Mrs. Clause or the Easter Bunny . The woman radiates warmth. I could no more attack her than my own mom. Geeze.

Because many countries are far more racist than the USA, and those who protest likely spend plenty of their own time enjoying themselves comfortably.

If you want to show that the USA is uniquely racist and that BLM protesters never take a break, go ahead. Otherwise, it's not my job to be add numbers to their performative displays.

The marchers are lucky that fewer diners whose personal space was directly invaded didn't stand up and slug them for exposing them to Covid-19.
