Looks like the list from earlier is pretty accurate. I saw that Penn Fusion is not joining, but other than that all of the listed teams are joining the GAL.

Where is BP interviewing? Twitter account has been almost silent since the fall of the DA. Got to believe all the focus now is on finding the next gig instead of tweeting about the almighty FCV DA teams.

For what? ECNL? If that is your question Charlotte teams had been added last week, they will not add anymore teams to our conference. MA is sitting at 13 now.

I love when people try to figure out who is posting. Try not to Overreach, no I am not from McLean. Just trying to answer a question. But while we are chatting about GAL, looks like it will be a chump league with little to no talent to play against. Have fun trying to keep your playing at top speeds to prepare them for college. Sorry for those going to college after playing crappy competition for a year. That will hurt, speed of play is very important.

I do agree the competition level at GAL will not be what the DA was, but it is what is and may be the best option for many.

I love this. The Mia/Landon comments are so funny. We have a DD on a current ECNL team and I love how everyone is so superior/entitled. They need to get into ECNL because they need to brag to their friends that their kid is “good enough”. It may be a terrible fit for the kid and their development but who cares about that!! “They play ECNL”. We have kids on our team that love soccer and are decent but sit on the bench all year. Is it better for them or your dinner parties that they play ECNL?

Someone has to ride the pine. Part of sports. Maybe there should be true pay to play. The more minutes you play the more you have to pay. Then you’ll have good poor kids tanking so their parents don’t have to pay as much.

Here’s what should really happen. All American youth sports must be coached by volunteers. All fees are for league registration, unis, refs, equipment, and club administration and all clubs must be not for profit. Travel and tournament fees are parent paid. Professional trainers can be hired individually but cannot be paid for thru a club and cannot participate directly in a team practice. Leagues are structured locally rec style until U13 (approx 7th grade). Then at that age supplemental metro and regional “select/all star” teams can be formed to play in tournaments outside of the standard fall/spring seasons. For those, volunteer coaches or paid USSF coaches but again minimum cost to participants. Orgs will have to work their tail off getting advertisers, charity and local and state funds and govt grants to foot the bill. Meanwhile, pro clubs can pick your kid up for the youth / farm system whenever they want but they pay you for your kid to attend not the other way around. HS sports remain the same and provide another competitive outlet. Once you reach age 18 and graduate HS you either make a pro / minor team or go to school / work like everyone else and play amateur on your own dime. No more draining poor college kids with excessive fees to pay for someone else to play women’s lacrosse or men’s soccer. Intramurals will be fine.

Each team takes a bye week sometimes 2 back to back. It is a lot In the fall that is for sure. I so miss seeing the kids play.
