Bullis concerns

Very impressive list but you are distorting the facts.

2 out of 4 on this list enrolled in Bullis in August of their senior year.

The question - are any of these athletes good students? - was answered. It was supported by a list of schools to which they matriculated. No facts were distorted.

The question had nothing to do with when they enrolled at Bullis. I'll take the veracity of your post with a grain of salt. To the point I'm guessing you are trying to make...I highly doubt athletes are already committed to top universities and then transferring to Bullis. What would be the point?

Yes, the are already committed when they enter their senior year at Bullis. It makes Bullis look good when they have the formal ceremony in Oct/Nov. That is likely when they transfer their senior year. I see no other point.

Only one of these players committed prior to arriving at Bullis. BTW Bullis also has students at Brown, Dartmouth, Penn, Yale, Cornell.
Bullis can get (assist) you into some of the best schools in the country. Bullis may not be for you, but it works for many families.

The question pertained to the aptitude of the students. It had nothing to do with the timing of their arrival at Bullis or an attempt by Bullis to make itself look good.

Even if your point were to be believed, it does nothing to take away from the fact that these are high level student-athletes who have come to Bullis.

Bullis may offer something for a certain kind of student, but to suggest that they can "assist" you in getting in to the colleges listed is beyond absurd. In the six years since the graduating class of 2014, exactly 2 students have gone to Brown (4 total admitted), 2 to Yale, etc. What is the average class size at Bullis in high school - 125, 150? So that's out of some 750+ kids over the 6 years.

Selected kids get into good and excellent colleges from all sorts of schools. Bullis offers nothing special in this area unless you are a D1 recruit in certain sports. In which case, please select Bullis - you will be afforded all sorts of benefits at the expense of other students, including free tuition and a pass on student behavior.

And the percentages of kids going to those schools from public is higher.

Correct. In the Brown example, compare 4 admits at Bullis since 2014 with 51 from BCC last year alone. https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-magazine/september-october-2018/where-bethesda-area-high-school-grads-applied-to-college/

Bullis is not a feeder to elite colleges in any stretch of the imagination, but yes, a small portion of students, including student athletes, do go to elite schools. The school is still a hot mess which should be a far bigger concern to prospective families than whether a few top students do well in college placement.

Love this poster. You are 100 percent correct. It was so frustrating and we still have friends there for various reasons and nothing has changed. Still admitting athletes in mid September, by the way.

Two posters discussing how much they hate Bullis. That's just odd.

It is more than two. Maybe two today but there are many who post and many more who do not.

not many people who are from the area send their kids to Bullis, end of the story.

PG County (50%)
Potomac (25%)
Everywhere else (25%)

I think the PP meant people who grew up in the DC/MD area.

No way Bullis is 50% PG kids

I believe it based on last years directory. No longer there but it was 50% or more. The public schools are awful in PG so it makes sense. They have about 4 maybe 5 bus routes to/from PG, 2 from MOCO, one from Dc and one from northern Va.
