We then learned the schools admitted a 4 star quarterback from Canada and another football player, a senior transfer, from Watkins Mill.

You really think these families are paying anywhere near to full freight? I know of other current families who were told the same story from the FA Director.

It’s because of situations like this why Bullis reputation is turning into a jock school and if your son or daughter doesn’t play football or track, men’s lacrosse, or basketball, the administration doesn’t seem to care about you.

The sad thing is we wanted to keep our daughter there as she really enjoyed some of the teachers she met.

If you needed financial aide why didn't you apply on time like everyone else. The deadline is early spring and not summer.

Entitlement issues.

Fake poster

Yes, obviously fake since as above poster mentioned FA deadlines are in the early spring. And then had the nerve to tell the lie that other parents also were so entitled to expect FA after the deadline.

What has Bullis done to accrue so much hate?

Canada? I think you mean New York.

You guys just need to stop with the stereotypical inferences. Athletes have parents with jobs. Some athletes also come from transient families.

This is true. They did the same thing for other athletes. Told us no money when the financial aid package come, yet they have some very late admits with more than half aid!!

Interesting how these late athlete admits are so willing to share how much aid they are getting

What the poster meant is the same thing I went through. The aid package came in March and we got zero. Director said some aid may free up after contracts are due in June and to hang in there. We asked again in June and July and was told NO financial aid was available. Yet, kids were still being accepted in late July and August with more than half in aid. Something just isn't right. NOBODY said anything about being entitled. If you qualify but are not a special athlete you are just out of luck.

Oh, so we are so sure because a kid told us that another kid told them something?

And it’d have to be true because kids never embellish.

Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. I am a Bullis parent and I actually believe they do this. We are still in lower school, but hearing what gets posted on these forums about the high school makes me incredibly nervous and ready to look for another school when the time comes. It's a shame, because the lower school is an amazing place and it's hard to imagine there being such a difference when they get up in grades. If the high school was more like the lower (and even middle school), I'm pretty sure they could turn their reputation around. Focus more on the well rounded child than the school winning things.

Are any of these athletes who get scholarships good students?

Very impressive list but you are distorting the facts.

2 out of 4 on this list enrolled in Bullis in August of their senior year.

They way people on here talk, I wouldn’t of thought anyone from Bullis went to a top ten school.

The question - are any of these athletes good students? - was answered. It was supported by a list of schools to which they matriculated. No facts were distorted.

The question had nothing to do with when they enrolled at Bullis. I'll take the veracity of your post with a grain of salt. To the point I'm guessing you are trying to make...I highly doubt athletes are already committed to top universities and then transferring to Bullis. What would be the point?
