Any idea on how many were accepted? Where did the other boys go?

That is VERY low. What happened this year?!?!

How many boys were in the graduating class? Our year 28 boys were accepted and enrolled. 15 non-beauvoir were accepted.

pp, you said 28 accepted and enrolled - does that mean that a few more were accepted who didn't enroll? or that all who were accepted from beauvoir enrolled? i would think some might choose other schools, for coed, etc

29 accepted, only 1 declined and chose another school. 38 boys at the beginning of 3rd grade, 2 were expelled. In total of our graduating class 7 boys went to other schools. Of this group, STA rejected 3, 1 accepted and declined, and 3 didn't apply at all.

Yes. In both of these cases, the boys had severe behavioral problems. Why do you think that expulsion wouldn't occur at private school?

And I thought everyone knew of a certain boy from STA who was expelled for drugs and even his very famous and very powerful daddy couldn't save him.

Expelling in private school happens all the time. They just keep it very, very quiet.

Just curious if there are specific grade requirements for admittance to STA. For example, does one need to have virtually all A's? Do they have specific cut-offs grade-wise that a student must have before their application is considered further?

Luckily for that kid, Sidwell didn't have such high standards!

I don't think there are specific cut offs, especially if entering 9th grade. Indeed, many enrollees from our school who entered STA in 9th grade were not (academically) very strong students (they also accepted the very strongest students, but these students went elsewhere, to a one). This was surprising because so often it is entering 9th graders that end up at the top of the class (despite the merit numbers quoted above).

I can't account for all 7, but one boy went to GDS, one to Maret, one to Landon, one public, and one moved away.

For the girls, at least 10 (out of 34) did not go to NCS. Several went to GDS; others to Sidwell, Holton, St. Andrews, Bullis, public.

I believe Potomac School landed a few Beauvoir boys this past year. Take that STA!
