I read somewhere she was back at work but she's not included on the Landon website anymore. Perhaps that's to protect her privacy, don't know. |
They still should have done it. Now those women, who were much more popular to begin with, are not promoting the show at all. Huge missed opportunity! |
I hope they reconsider Mark, very dull and awkward. And that's saying something after Joan. |
They are not shopping, she is. Hence, we are not learning about what she would be like as a partner. Presumably, they are interested or they should not be there. Perhaps she is realizing that the idea of having a partner is more appealing than an actual man, which is far more complicated. Perhaps none of them compare favorably to the love she had. |
Are they though? Do any of them actually seem gaga about her, vs. typical male competitive drive to win? I'm not seeing this at all. |
No one is in it for actual love. This is simply an attempt to make money and have 15 minutes or more of fame. Most likely after this show these people will now have a better chance of meeting someone because of the exposure they have received. And probably will do very well as a result. |
I thought the one most likely to genuinely fall in love with her was Dan, too bad she axed him (though I get the reasons, per pp). |
All the guys seem more sad that they won't be around the gang of guys anymore vs. sad that Joan didn't pick them. Again, I say that the producers needed to pick men who already live in the I-95 corridor (NY to NC) so that they can actually contemplate a relationship AFTER the SHOW ends. These guys, with the exception of Chock, are NOT thinking or talking about being with Joan after filming. They are going back to their regular lives, just with fewer daily friends. With Gerry, we knew that he was already retired, and many of the women were retired or semi-retired at 70-ish years old. Therefore, they had the freedom to move if they felt it was worth moving. Joan isn't 71 (like Gerry). Joan is 61. And some of the guys are in their 50s! I believe Mark is only 57! These people are mostly still working. How invested are they going to be in "winning" Joan when their lives are thousands of miles away from Rockville, Md. With the exception of Chock, the rest are in it for the experience and the socializing. My take on many of them is that they went on GB to increase their visibility and have more "options" coming to them in the dating world. I'm sure Charles is getting lots of options (although I think he actually went on GB to step out of his comfort zone, not to get dates). Guys like Pascal most likely wanted the publicity and the hope that they would be the next Golden Bachelor. I think Pascal is gunning for that. I could see Jonathan as GB if he didn't have minor children still. Guy might have been a possibility for GBachelor if he didn't have the restraining order issue and if he had more personality. Mark is not going to be Golden Bachelor.... he seems a bit slow-witted. And word on the street from people who know Joan, is that producers told Joan that Mark wasn't going to be picked. Not enough going on. Not engaging enough. That leads me to Jordan -- we haven't heard any dirt on him yet -- and he seems decent enough to look at. We haven't seen enough of his personality, and we don't know his story about a divorce (assuming he's divorced). But, I think he is probably the top candidate for Golden Bach. Charles would be a delight, but I don't know if the producers are willing to go with an Asian guy. Charles won't be single long anyway. |
Same. And kissing a bunch of different people like she's doing grosses me out. I always wonder what these people would be like up close too, smells, etc. Or Kim kissing her as he left. Also, does she sometimes kiss more than one guy on the same day? Yuck. |
+1. Joan does not really seem like she's into this or she's not ready for another relationship. Or maybe there's not a lot of there there. Watching right now: Chock without his shirt on, acting jealous. Yuck. |
I thought there was a spark on Guy's end, maybe. Don't see it with any of the others. Chock's possessiveness is creeping me out. It doesn't seem rooted in anything genuine and sweet. |
Hope it's true that Mark won't be picked, he's just awful on tv. In every way. Like watching paint dry. Slow-witted is a great descriptor. Kelsey doesn't seem to have a lot going on upstairs, but she has a fun effervescent personality. He's got nada. Jordan strikes me as pretty boring, though I guess we haven't seen much of him. Guy seems like he could be fun, not sure. Maybe Jonathan. Again, I like them more as a friends group rather than any one individual for lead. Could there be a gem she sent home earlier, or someone the producers set aside from casting? |
The one takeaway that I've had from this season so far is that some of these men are just really nice to each other and in touch with their emotions. It has been really endearing to watch those interactions between the men. FAR more interesting than watching their interactions with Joan. |
Joan can’t stop talking about her dead husband. Her whole identity is wrapped up with John. Needs to become a drinking game each time she brings him up. |
+1000 same with the GB! |
