I liked Ellie in small doses, but not as the main character. And the romance with Dina is also just awkward to watch. Like PP's "I'm pregnant, let's have sex" and then "I'm going to be a dad" was all just so implausible to me.

Would a 20+ year old pregnancy test even work?

Whenever Dina and Ellie are onscreen together, i think it's such a stark contrast. The Dina actress is so charming and expressive and the Bella actress is so wooden and flat.

+1
When Dina had tears in her eyes while watching Ellie sing and play the guitar, I got teary too. She is really a good actress.

. I don’t know anything about the video game, but really liked the song and episode. The writers, etc. had to know this song/ scene was going to be a hit. So, wondering if the lyrics might have any foreshadowing, or just defining their romance. Again, I know nothing about the game, nor am I asking for spoilers.

No spoilers, but that scene was pulled directly from the game.

I know it's a computer render but, in that scene from the game, Dina is dead eyed and not even looking at Ellie most of the time. Ellie, with Ashley Johnson's voice, sells that scene in the game. Starts around minute 3:

It's the opposite in the tv show because of Isabela Merced's choices on paying Dina.

Yeah. Unlike many game players, I'm not A Bella hater. I think she's been great. But, Isabela has been otherworldly in bringing Dina (little more than a prop in the game; and literal NPC) to life. She has a different level of charisma and subtlety in her abilities than Bella and it makes sense for the show to capitalize and flesh her out more. I think she's stolen every scene she's been in (not just from Bella but also Pascual)

Ellie plays guitar A LOT in the game. What else is there to do in an apocalyptic world?

It was lovely. We had this version of the song playing on repeat for a time a few years ago.

Nice, but I actually like Bella’s version better. Maybe, it’s b/c can see Dina’s expressions in the background during the song.

Eh, I've lost all interest in the show.

It's a revenge tale with some zombies every once in a while.

I can see how the game might be fun if you get to shoot a whole bunch of WLF and Fedra NPCs.

Otherwise, meh.

Damn Isaac is scary! I love that Jeffrey Wright reprised his role (same guy from the video game). His character is so hardcore and I think he did a great job.

He is an excellent actor.

I'm so glad Pedro Pascal came back! But episode six was so boring. Besides his great acting chops. Bella Ramsey is such an awkward, affected actor. I'm done with this show

Ok, it’s official. I can’t stand Ellie. She is the most sanctimonious ahole. We see in this episode what a tremendous father figure Joel was to her - yet when he tells her he saved her because he loves her, she says she can’t forgive him for that (not letting them kill her to develop a vaccine). What a tool. She owes everything to Joel. She didn’t deserve him.
