That works to their benefit...create more fear, sell more guns, blame the dems for crime, repeat.

That is all they have. Republicans no longer have the numbers to govern at the national stage.

I don’t know why they think it doesn’t affect them though.

Billionaires better come get their boys. Without the full faith & credit of the United States, their portfolios will diminish.

Capitalism is breaking down.

Look at whiny b DeSantis in FL.

Republicans don’t want real capitalism anymore. 100% only crony capitalism.

They can’t compete bc they are dumb as all F and they know it

The idea that billionaires even care that the country collapses is amusing. It’s a spoils economy now. And they want this. Makes it easier for them.

This is what happens when you govern in a way that concentrates wealth in a few hands. It’s essentially uncorrected market failure. We used to care about that kind of thing. Oh well. Hope every likes eating potatoes. I am just hoping my rich boomer parents live long enough to see what they did to their grandkids. I suspect they know already and that’s why they are so damn angry about everything now. Shifting blame while they hoard wealth.

What’s super interesting is that republicans in Congress think they’ll be spared somehow from the repercussions of their behavior. Kinda reminds me of what happened leading up to J6. Some of them were certainly caught off guard, couldn’t believe things went so far. Others not so much. What dupes.

The unemployment rate is higher than that right now. The government has multiple measures of unemployment, and frequent report the percent of people actively looking for work who are unemployed.
There is also a household survey vs payroll survey, and the household survey shows higher rates, because it will account for people who work multiple jobs.

So we’re doing this. Manufacturing a recession because why?

It's not "we" - it's the Federal Reserve, and it's being done to knock inflation down. And hopefully they aggressively calibrate to prevent oversteering into an actual recession.

Because it makes the idiot MAGAS in the house happy and McCarthy is only concerned with keeping them happy

Both parties are dumb thinking they can blame a default or recession on the other party. Both the Dems and GOP will suffer politically.

A little inflation, which is already trending down, is better than an economic collapse from where I am sitting. Which is where most Americans are sitting.
