The entire team has been harassed this entire season.

If by team you mean "cheaters" and by "harassed" you mean "called out for their cheating" then your comment is spot-on.

Yes, I work at Hayfield.

Not everyone at Hayfield is of the mindset that this was proper. Hayfield is so much more than this football team and athletics department. We are a very diverse school, no ethnicity group makes up a majority of the population and we have over 50 different home languages spoken by our students and staff.

We are not perfect, but we are not defined by this scandal either.

"We are not perfect, but we are not defined by this scandal either."

Sadly, you are now. It is unfortunate you do not realize that. And frankly you deserve to be. The entire staff is complicit in this. You all knew what was going on, and so many of you decided to do nothing. Had even a small minority spoken up from the outset this all could have been avoided. Shame on you.

Speaking as a teacher at a school where multiple staff have formally complained about the principal and the principal was even investigated by the county and reinstated, this isn’t close to being true. You can see how a district will cover up for their own people- Hayfield staff could’ve complained and voiced this plenty and been completely ignored by the district. That’s how it works.

Not sure what happened in your school but the Hayfield staff is complicit and let this happen. If these alleged Federal crimes of homeless students did happen, then the reporting could have gone outside of the school system where these things are properly handled. Short of that, the way things are shaking out, an anonymous tip to the media or VHSL could have moved things along sooner rather than later.

You're an absolute idiot who clearly can't read and comprehend. School staff DID speak about about the transfers and paid dearly. Since you are such a know-it-all you tell me the name of the school admin who was removed from their job. The school principal with the Super present said anyone who brought up the issue would be reprimanded. Again since you are a know-it-all, tell me about this meeting where this happened.

You are so full of shite. People also complained to VHSL. If you actually didn't have your head up your butt you would know about all of this. Prove to me that you do.

Wow, pivoting to ad hominem attacks from the jump. Well, when you don't have a leg to stand on, I guess that is all you can do. As was noted by a previous commenter, any teacher who went to their supervisor or HR about this didn't know what they were doing. They should have done what at least a few did from the jump and gone to Asra and other journalists as anonymous sources. That's how you get things done in systems that aren't meritocracies; and no, the public education system is not a meritocracy for those employed within it. So, in short, yes, any teacher that didn't take intelligent steps to make sure word got out about this was complicit. I look forward to your rambling response with yet more ad hominem attacks.

I don't ramble and you're still full of shite. How do you know people didn't complain? How do you know people didn't go to various journalists? You don't know jack.

Yikes...you're spiraling.

"How do you know people didn't go to various journalists?"

I literally noted in my response to your rambling ad hominem initial comment that some educators at Hayfield did go to Asra and various other journalists.

Maybe spend less time on your rage-filled ad hominem attacks and more time working on your reading comprehension skills.

This poster seems unable to.hàve an intelligent conversation without resorting to profanity, attempting to hide it by using "shite" instead of "shit." This isn't the first post they have done it.

The worst part is, the extent to which they have doubled down on their terrible take makes me think they actually work for Hayfield in some capacity. If that is the case, that would be a shame.

GTFOH! Almost 200 teachers & 10+ counselors and all are AFRAID of repercussions?!? FCPS HR must be the scum of the earth if that is the case! Why even work at a place like that? I'm beginning to think that FCPS staff just likes to complain about anything & everything with their heads in their butts! WEAK & COMPLICIT!

^^^^^ This.

It is absolutely crazy than rather than be angry at the coaches, ADs, principal and families who coordinated this and perpetrated it that you’re mad at uninvolved staff and faculty who somehow didn’t mount an insurrection and achieve change from within the organization despite having ZERO power. The superintendent was complicit, what the hell were the staff supposed to do in that case?

"what the hell were the staff supposed to do in that case?"

As has been written what feels like a dozen times already: go to the media as anonymous sources as several did.

Hold FCPS Accountable: Taxpayers demand Investigation, Transparency, and Reparations

How can there only be 781 signatures on this petition?

Smart people know that change.org positions hold no water? Not trying to be rude, but there is a reason that the pro-Hayfraud change.org petition has nearly 1,300 signatures...they're a bunch of knuckle-draggers.

Agreed. No Change.org petition can take on the system of white supremacy. That’s not happening in Virginia.

Pathetic...pivoting back to the false claims of racism in defense of the Hayfraud cheaters. Frankly, at this point, I wouldn't have minded seeing them get punched in the mouth against Oscar Smith or James Madison.

Madison wasn’t beating them, which is a huge part of the reason gatehouse received all the pressure to stop Hayfield. I don’t even think Oscar Smith was beating Hayfield.

In the end, Hayfield beat themselves. They ultimately weren’t smart enough to get around the system they tried to cheat.

Oh please. "Who would beat who" has absolutely nothing to do with the decisions that were made on which timeline.
Once the texts were MADE PUBLIC, Reid had no choice but to pull the team out of the playoffs.

Are the actual court filings published anywhere?

All the texts show were that the AD knew that homeless kids were allowed to transfer in. Maybe he knew that there were a couple homeless kids at Freedom. It’s only cheating, if they weren’t actually homeless and there’s been no proof of that.

if Hayfield wasn’t a threat to beat Madison, there would be no need for a two year ban.

That’s two years Madison won’t need to worry about Overton’s team. They have two years to figure a way to get rid of him or figure something out. If Overton waits it out, there will be trouble in two years.

Oscar Smith appreciates the white supremacists for getting Hayfield out of the way for sure.

I think it means the ban still stands. This litigation stemmed from Hayfraud parents suing to get an injunction for this year's playoffs (which they were able to get) with the Dec 4th hearing to weigh the parents' assertions on their merits. Since Hayfraud principal agreed to voluntarily pull team out of playoffs, sounds like parents are no longer fighting the ban altogether(?)..

Those parents were probably all senior parents and therefore couldn't care less what happens in future years. Either way, that tweet makes it sound like ban for next year will still be in place. Which it should be.

Since they played a game in the playoffs this year, the ban should be reinstated to cover two full years of postseason play. This means they should be banned for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 seasons.
