Too damn high.
$228 Verizon-DH's iPhone 6, my iPhone 6+ and my Ipad air. Unlimited talk and text, 10 shared gigs of data. Originally got the plan because I had a 1-1.5 hour commute each way on public transportation so I'd work and stream a lot but I don't take PT anymore but smaller data plans aren't that much cheaper so I've held onto it. |

For 2 cells with att. I have unlimited data, DH has something lower. New phones and contract. They said I can pay this price forever. It can be lower if I buy the phones outright or go with the next plan but we did the numbers and it's still less with this plan and new 5s phones for 3 years. |

Can I hijack this to ask a question? I'm grandfathered into an unlimited data plan with AT&T.
Is there ever a reason I should give this up? My monthly bill may be a bit lower - I currently pay about $95/month (unlimited text, no idea about minutes because I have about a million rollover minutes). But the comfort of unlimited data is nice, even though I may use/pay less. And once I give it up, it's gone forever. |

We're in Europe for work. Here it is very uncommon to have a contract; all iphones are sold unlocked, and everyone uses a top-up SIM card.
So it varies. I pay something like $10 a month, and that's because I mostly just use my phone for internet, texting, and calling taxis. I think this is a better system than what I used have in the US with a contract. My "local" friends here are shocked when I tell them that iphones are sold pre-contracted in the US, and then I tell them how much people pay. |

Im the pp with ten unlimited plan. See how much you really use. You may want to give it up if it's consistently 30% or less of the lower bound of what they offer on the limited plans. But you have to see the Numbers. |

Definitely. But there you have to buy the phone outright so you pay the $600 out of pocket for the smart phone. Granted then you can use it forever on the cheaper plan. It does end up being cheaper by a lot in Europe. More competition and the SIM cards make it easier too. We are stuck with the big monopolies in the U.S. Consumers in the U.S. Have an easier time swallowing the "free" upgrade but $100 a month plan as opposed to a $600 up front and then he cheaper plan. Just the way it's been for a whole. Now comPanties here are eliminating the contracts but they offer you the installment and upgrade after a certain time plan. So it's not really any cheaper. |

Ugh. $200/month for:
AT&T Grandfathered unlimited data for 2 smart phones 2 flip phones for my mother and uncle (in their 70's) It's got to be too much. |

My husband still has a grandfathered Verizon unlimited data plan. DON'T GIVE IT UP...there's a very good reason why the carriers are working hard to "incentivize" customers to leave these plans!! As mobile becomes the prime way people access the Internet and as content gets more and more data intensive, they want to cash in on people's growing data needs and having people on unlimited plans ain't going to help their bottom line. So, keep it...it might mean a few more dollars this year or next, but in the long term you'll come out ahead data-wise. |

It depends on how much data you use. I just gave mine up and moved to the 15GB plan because I never use more than 10GB. |

Virgin Mobile. $35 including unlimited talk/text and basic 1-GB data. For $45 you get 3-GB data. For $55 you get 8-GB data.
It was changed recently from my old plan which was $35 for unlimited data/text and 300 minutes talk. |
