Inflation is double what the manipulated cpi says. People are pissed at reality and the crunching down of lifestyle. I’m wealthy and drive a lot so eat a good bit of fast food on a whim. I’ve really noticed the insane jacking up of prices and even though it doesn’t affect me badly I have literally stopped buying. I’ve stopped buyin in many areas. You literally cannot drive out of your house without dropping 50 bucks. There is going to be a cascading layoff tsunami in the near future.

Nailed it.

The bolded corresponds with record profits.

Your ire is misplaced.

Fast food will probably do ok because of the Walmart effect. People who eat at restaurants will now go to McDonald’s like people who go to wegmans are now in increasing numbers going to Walmart. But there is going to be bankruptcies and defaults all over the place soon.

You all have been saying that for two years. Sorry not sorry your economic cataclysm hasn’t happened yet.

That is capitalism. There are always bankruptcies.

It’s not the inflation, it’s the price gouging.

No bigger price gouge than the federal government. Always charging more recession or boom. Sloppy pigs.

y'all see how that yellow line is BELOW several others at the end of the Trump Administration?

And then Biden becomes president, takes care of COVID, gets the economy rolling and BOOM...

Truth. Best performing large developed economy in the world over the last 3 years! All the data proves it.

The random person that keeps posting weird technical stats and random layoff announcements (even when layoff levels are very low) doesn’t even try to argue otherwise.

Yes, profits are “bigger” when there are more dollars out there to be had. And the wages before profits buy less. And the profits themselves buy less.

The people who are not optimistic about the economy didn’t answer the poll because they were on vacation in Europe.
