They don't mention how far wealthy people have to travel though. There is no language of "traveling further" in the article. Maybe it seems implied but there is no data on that. Perhaps the point is that food deserts being the *cause* of BMI differences, as the previous poster suggests, is the myth. It's more of an education issue. |
| I have one small meal before dinner, usually <300 calories. At dinner I have 50% of a serving of what my family is having and 50% of my plate as steamed or roasted vegetables or salad. I hit 15k steps per day, some of which is usually a run or spin, but mostly just a lot of walking. When I'm bored, I walk. When I'm stressed, I walk. When I feel like snacking, I walk. |

Stressing about money, work, kids, pension, college costs etc can lead to overeating unhealthy foods. I assume most rich women don’t have these worries.
I’m 53 and only weigh a few pounds more than I did in my early twenties. Although we’re not rich, we’re financially stable. To stay at a constant weight I don’t eat breakfast, don’t snack, don’t drink soda or juices, don’t eat fast or junk food, don’t eat out much, don’t drink much alcohol, and only really have one large meal a day. This is not a sacrifice because I don’t get very hungry. Most of my food is made from scratch, and I like to eat small quantities of very good quality food rather than large amounts of cheap and processed junk. I still eat pizza, cheese, good quality meat, organic where possible. |
You need to eat tastier foods. |
| I noticed the same thing as OP, and I think the reason is that rich woman married rich because they are very pretty to begin with, with a good diet it is very easy to stay fit. |
You can’t Just enjoy being slightly chubby while the kids are young, once they are able to entertain themselves (9yr+) hire a trainer and go pro |
Yes. Access to boutique medicine and scrips come more easily. |
| Hard to separate cause and effect here. The biggest thing is generational attitudes about food and exercise and it’s priority in life. You can have that as a rich or poor family. But like most else, it’s easier to make it a priority when you are financially stable and not working two jobs to get said food on the table. |
Definitely. They are beautiful to begin with. |
If she were smoking crack she would be skinny Which is suggestion #24899 to stay thin. Smoke crack. |
Or take an amphétamine in another form - Adderall. #24900 |
| I'm not rich (at least not by DCUM standards) but for me it is a combination of genetics and effort. I do hybrid yoga workouts daily (mostly yoga with some HIIT and strength training incorporated). I eat a mostly vegetarian diet, with a big emphasis on fresh veggies (lots of salads, different mixed veggie entrees). I dont eat many refined carbs. I dont drink alcohol except on special occasions. I put a lot of emphasis on sleeping well too. Food isn't a vice for me and I guess I'm lucky in that regard. |
What's the benefit to weighing daily over weekly? It's not like you're going to put on 5 pounds in two days. I think weekly is plenty, daily is obsessive. |
The mothers that want to give their daughters complexes, sure. Normal mothers, no. |
And you know this...how? |
