Kent is very very far from an apolitical, mission-driven career employee. He’s a MAGA who primaried a seminormal Republican congresswoman who then lost that seat to a Democrat. Twice. This position was his reward, similar to other Republican congressional candidates who lost like the current secretary of Labor and its inspector general.

Point taken. But the fact remains that he couldn't stomach be part of Trump's crazy house, just like many others. The intelligence community has already lost a lot of people with a core of ethics and will lose more.

This is pretty obviously where MAGA is going. This guy is just showing the way. It will soon be conventional wisdom in MAGA that this war was a disastrous mistake thrust upon Donald Trump by Israel and the Jews. They always need an excuse for Trump's terrible decisions.

The two things are not contradictory. He's calling out the stupidity of this war, which is great, but it may be for personal/political reasons, not noble motives as he states. It's okay to be skeptical.
