I know him. He is a fantastic person. He has trained countless officials. He is at a meet every weekend. He has an amazing work ethic. I am stunned that the PVS board decided to replace him. The PVS website was vastly better than most LSC sites.

Bring back the old webmaster!!!

I don't even know him, but the screed left on the PVS website when he left makes me seriously question his judgement and maturity. It was said that he refused to implement changes required by PVS-- that's not okay.

So the solution was to hire someone who does not do the job? That seems crazy. PVS has made a series of bad calls recently.

Right…I’m not that deep into the drama and frankly don’t really care who the webmaster is or what the website looks like. But current situation is not working for me at all.

DC is a HS junior and trying to get recruited. I just want results and result files posted to the website quickly. That’s it. I can deal with a layout as is, don’t need changes. Just need the information.

I manage government websites and can’t image telling a customer we’re changing personnel and sorry we can’t make any updates right now. They should have had more people cross trained so others can pick up the role while a new person comes in. And the new person better step up quickly.

And just like that results are posted for last weekend....

Including the meet with her swimmers’ results. As long as her swimmers keep swimming everything will be fine.

Yep. We know of them. That is how they roll. She is not actually a bad person, the dad though...

The twit complaining that times are not posted fast enough whom is in the throws of recruiting….you have a simple solution. Have DC take a screen shot of the results from MeetMobile and email them to the coach. Waiting for anyone else to do anything for you is only your fault.

That’s not even necessary. If host teams are submitting meet results directly to SWIMS, college coaches will see them.

Some of these comments are likely coming from 14&u parents who think colleges start tracking their kid if they briefly crack the top 500 nationally in their age group in any event.

^this. Some people have no clue. Coaches aren’t looking at MM screenshots or SWIMS.

If you are not top 10 notionally by junior year no coach is seeking you out actively anymore at any “real” program. Why would a coach care if a kid does not care, or is to lazy and arrogant, to engage with them? Sending times is the easiest part and if you fail at that, you are done.

Kids do engage (emails, phone calls, text) with the coaches, but sending MM screenshots is not it. It’s not mommy and daddy your screenshotting your MM best time to in a text.

You’ll understand more when your swimmer gets to that point. In the meantime, just update the PVS website in a timely fashion please. We’ll take care of the rest. It’s not that hard to do and we pay fees for it to managed in a timely fashion.

Sounds like you may be the mommy and daddy doing it all for the kid. Your tonality stinks of insecurity. Make sure you call the coach DP! That will get your child across the line. At the end of the day the times speak for themselves. Dressing trash around trash is still trash.

What? What does this even mean. You sound unhinged.

If you are going to toss around insults, try to spell them correctly: *throes

But we are also just talking about basic web updating. It would be a few minutes of time. My 12 year old can do it without batting an eye. This is now a paid employee who doesn't seem to have time to do the job. I am now going to have to look every day to see how long this is going to take them. Not off to an impressive start. PVS probably hired some spouse of someone on the board, instead of someone with an actual skill set.

The old person was a retired empty nester and PVS/swimming was his 40 hour a week hobby. The new person is a working mom and as everybody here should know that means almost zero free time. I think we all need to calm down and accept the new state of things where the website will probably only be updated a few times a month.

This is coming from a working mom. That is a BS statement. Seriously. Grow up. We need to stop excusing people overextending themselves and because they start failing we are told to show them GRACE.

Don't take on more than you can handle. PERIOD.

This persons crappy work ethic and need to be part of things should not make others wait. Don't take the job. Don't take a volunteer position if you are going to crap the bed. They have not done their job in over a week.

+1000 and PERIOD, your point is taken. Now take some meds. DC’s times are known to those who care. Sadly, which is no one.

You people are all insane and need to do some deep reflection about the amount of emotions you are putting into this event.

There are some pretty good times from these meets. You know, now that the results are official.

Good news, the webmasters’ swimmers are swimming again this weekend.
