It’s a fitting choice out of central office. They don’t care about those schools. |
Cedar Lane Principal was actively interviewing for other HS jobs— at least 2 in FCPS— so it’s at least a mutual departure. |
There should be follow up with the school community. Ditto a similar, non-fatal incident involving ms and hs students by the library. And then behind South Lakes. All could be linked as they happened in quick succession. The truth is FCPS knows more than it is willing to admit. Given my experiences at HHS, I 100% believe that the administration failed to do its part to prevent murder. |
School personnel are MANDATOEG reporters. When they don’t report (or don’t follow through on calls), it is a crime. |
Honestly? I would go to school to get their take on the situation first before I would go around accusing someone with that level of threat. |
Do you work in gatehouse? None of the parents I know were aware. |
Seriously!? How do you know? I thought it was a temporary move. |
Her email to teachers and the school families said that it was temporary, and she plans to return to Cedar |
That is what I heard too. |
No. My sister asked me what I knew about the HHS principal, as she had been told by FCPS staff about the change. |
| The murder of a Herndon HS due to FCPS inaction is such a massive injustice and speaks to problems at the top. Administrators are incentivized to inaction and we should all demand more. |
Not only that but not even a moment of silence for a student who was MURDERED. Students were not told about the incident. Victim’s parents gave permission for school to share what happened to their son, so this was not a matter of respecting someone’s privacy. A student died and HHS considers it as no big deal without even looking internally at what role it played or if protocols need to change. The principal who has left this week to lead an elementary school failed. |
Unless you can actually prove this comment it is absolutely ridiculous and if you weren't hiding on an anonymous forum it'd be libelous defamation. |
+1 How is the high school responsible for this? The shooter is responsible. Law enforcement is responsible. If the dad did not call the police, he also has responsibility. We do not know what the dad told the liaison. If the liaison did not tell anyone, that is on him/her. The liaison should have contacted law enforcement if what the dad said he shared. If law enforcement was notified, then that would be on them. If the principal knew, then that is a problem. But, does the liaison work for the principal. Who does the liaison report to? Where are the reporters on this? |
And therein lies the problem. No one wants to investigate exactly what happened. |
