True. It was the only acceptable name from that list, but they should have included "Oak Hill," "Sully," or, even, "Horsepen Run."

I did have fun thinking of "Frying Pan" though. I still like the idea of a pioneer chasing her husband with a skillet as a mascot.

Hopefully, the School Board does not change it to a person or some type of aspirational name. But, they might.

I wish it was named John Foster Dulles High School lr another important person who shaped our country or area.

Ugh. Western is such an uninspiring name and doesn’t even fit for location. Oak Hill sounds so much better if they wanted a location name. What a silly waste of time to just land where they started on the naming.

I do not understand why they would take Oak Hill off the list of names to be voted on. It was one of the top ones initially. Why did Reid decide that?

Yes, I'm super frustrated that our choices are Western and Skyview (sounds like a cartoon). Bring back Oak Hill, it's what the community wants.

And, while the community wants a community school, it would appear that some in FCPS leadership do not. Maybe, they listened to the people for mocking us for using that name. Look at a map and see where we are.

Welcome to FCPS. Where a total waste is a moderately good result because the moist likely alternative is something that is actively bad.

It can still go sideways if someone gets triggered by westerns.
