| Great list of LACs for a junior in my opinion. |
. To be fair, up until a few years ago, Middlebury was consistently ranked in the top 10–even the top 5–until USNews changed its methodology. Denison has never broken the top 20. |
| Wesleyan, Davidson, and Middlebury are great schools. |
| By overall score in U.S. News, Middlebury places exactly between Williams and Denison. |
These schools are so close academically, please don’t choose based on perceived “prestige” or the rankings. That’s foolish. People are splitting hairs here. |
| I like Wes, Denison and Midd. Don’t know much about Davidson. Not a huge fan of southern schools, but to each their own. |
I'm so glad! It's an amazing place to go to college for friendships, academics, athletics, beautiful campus, and business connections! |
|
Davidson is great. So is Denison. These are my son’s top two choices. Going the admitted student tours and then he will decide.
Heard good things about Middlebury and Wesleyan but don’t know them as well. |
| You can’t go wrong with any of these schools. |
| All these schools are great, but Davidson is top-ranked. For years, Middlebury coasted on its reputation, but as metrics changed to outcomes, it ranked lower. Also, coming out of the Great Financial Crisis, Middlebury had some financial issues. Subsequently, it couldn’t compete as aggressively with other schools on financial aid and other investments. |
| Doesn’t Denison have by far the strongest endowment out of of these 4? |
Lol. I have only heard of Denison because my grandfather went there |
It’s endowment per student that matters. Based on the latest data, Davidson leads the pack by quite a bit. Davidson has about $650k/per student, Middlebury and Denison both have around $450k and Wesleyan has about $400k. |

Overall endowments:
Middlebury: $1.6B Wesleyan: $1.57B Davidson: $1.4B Denison: $1B |
Less after today thanks to the tariffs. |
