Why are there still product shortages happening?

I don’t think it’s 100% on the manufacturers. I know the grocery stores like to blame the manufacturers and they put up their little “due to shortages ….” Signs where the cream cheese should be. But I don’t think they order enough to keep up with demand.

I complained so much about almond milk being out of stock at Giant - the regular, non-flavored almond milk - on every store survey that they started putting up signs about “shortages” in the almond milk section. But I truly believe it was on Giant for not ordering correctly. Because the flavored almond milk was always in stock, and Wegmans would have regular almond milk in stock too, but Giant was always out of it.

I have NOT noticed the unflavored almond milk being out of stock, but I shop at Harris teeter and Wegman’s.

We bought a home distiller for water, when we moved to the DC area I couldn't reliably find distilled water during the winter for humidifiers.

+1 There are machines that distill water. We had them when we lived overseas, to make the water potable.

And this is why shortages continue. We have all lived through a long shortage of things we need. So when we have trouble finding things, the next time we buy extras. When we all do this, it causes a shortage (not blaming you. I do the same thing).

I haven’t been able to find T Gel Extra Strength shampoo for a few years now— at least at a reasonable price. It’s currently $199 on Amazon.

My 80 year old mom bought a home distillery to ensure they had distilled water. It is just an appliance that sits on the counter.

Romaine lettuce or other salad - I can get it but about half of the time the lettuce shelves are completely empty of any kinds except some super expensive already expired organic bagged variety. This is happening at more than one grocery store.

You could not be more uninformed and wrong about this. Sensodyne is the only toothpaste brand that does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), which is a leading cause of canker sores. My flare ups have drastically reduced since switching to this brand 3 years ago. Again, this brand of toothpaste used to cost no more than $5, and now costs over $9. It has only increased to guys amount in the past few months, so something is definitely up.

Deli lunch meat is impossible to get a giant like boar's head classic chicken has been "out of stock" for weeks. I'm told they haven't been delivering to giant.
