About Northeastern, they have invested in modernizing the campus and building more housing. It has historically been a commuter-focused school.

Other way around for DC.. Accepted at NEU and Mich but rejected at Austin!

My kid applied 2/1 to a number of schools and heard today from two of them but hasn't opened them yet. We expected to hear on 3/1 or later. Is there any reason they would reject or defer him right away? Or is it likely to be good news if they process his application quickly? (Or does no one know this year?)

He should open them.

OML. NU has not been a commuter school for about 50 years. I can't stand when people who have never been to the north east chime in about the north east. SMDH.

One of the PP here. If you are interested in last minute additional Catholic universities, there are Feb 1 deadlines for Gonzaga, Creighton, Marquette, etc. (And TCU, though not Catholic.)

While the deadline passed for Holy Cross, their app is technically not closed yet in Common App. Same for Santa Clara, LMU, Fairfield, Providence, Fordham.

Such an unpredictable season, I'm beginning to feel like it's time to throw the spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks.

If you want SLAC, consider Muhlenberg and Juniata

In at UT Austin, congrats!! My son is a junior and that is his top choice school but we keep hearing about all the kids from OOS with perfect stats that got rejected. Do you mind sharing stats and also which major?

Update -- accepted at one, wait listed at another. So basically good news!

The parent part of me says, “Yay, congrats!” But the ACC part of me says, “Boooooo, Tigers!”

Congrats! My DS was accepted too. Over 43,000 applications this year.
