2021 VA Governors race

Anonymous
could we have probably opened in the fall? yes. But I'm not willing to throw away progress we have made at the state level just because I am annoyed about that. Many, many school systems were virtual this past fall, for similar reasons to us.

People really need to think about the implications of our state elections for the midterms and beyond. The Rs really are trying to subvert democracy and it is appalling. Don't let them do it here!

The reason I am voting for him today is because I had no issues with his term.

+1. Plus, he can raise the cash to keep up with the money Youngkin will dump into this race from his personal fortune. I also like how aggressive he is.

January 6th was an affront to our republic, but it’s the local Democrats who made parents’ lives miserable for a solid year and pander incessantly to groups who’d confiscate the savings of families if they could to further their radical agenda.

It is unbelievable to me that you equate virtual learning during a pandemic to a violent attack on the seat of our democracy.

Republicans are against democracy. A vote for a Republican is a vote against our democracy. Beyond trump and the national Republicans whitewashing the national 1/6 attack, you have Republican led states conducting “audits” of a legitimate election and passing laws that allow legislators to overrule county election officials’ vote counts.

+1

+100

The gop is literally delusional at this point.

Vote them out.

The Democrats run everything in Virginia at this point. And we're all paying the price for their pandering.

We need more balance, especially at the state and local level.

I’m curious to know what price it is that you think we’re paying

The largest price I paid that I am aware of was no in person school option until March this year and that was a very heavy price.

Did you lose your job? Because my best friend lost her father.

No offense, but the price was to keep our kids and families safe.

But I’m sorry if you lost your job and you're homeless or something. Maybe spend less time on dcum and more time getting a new job?

Truth.

Also- a lot of businesses like him. He attracts so many big businesses, meaning smaller contractors have the ability to work for the big guys and be profitable.

Democrats are pro business and pro people.

GOP- not reallly. Like I don’t even recognize what they are for anymore. Other than white supremacy and guns.

I voted for McAuliffe, Ayala, and Herring today. We’ll see what happens. I heard turnout was low. Might be room for an upset somewhere.

I think that’s a vote of confidence for McAuliffe.

WRONG

Youngkin is not taking money from his own "personal fortune" . He's already trolling with trumpie grift "donations".

He is a Trump Q Republican and not fit for office. Policies LOL Republicans never follow through. Do you see the new health plan they screamed about? How about Mexico paying for that wall? Or defunding the police, your guys did that all on their own.

Are those Commonwealth issues? Stop nationalizing local elections. You’re a broken record. Get some rest or meditate.

Yes, they are issues for the whole country. Youngkin ran on “election integrity” despite there being no problems with the election. He is part of the anti-democratic Republican Party. You are foolish if you think the stuff Republicans are doing elsewhere won’t end up here of you vote R.

Elections are nationalized. You people who are obsessing about advanced math in FCPS determining an election are the ones who are out of touch.

And CNN has called it. https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/08/politics/virginia-democratic-gubernatorial-primary-terry-mcauliffe/index.html

Here’s my question - if I want to vote for McAuliffe do I have to vote for the D candidate for Lt Gov or can I pick whoever I want for Lt Gov?

You can vote for McAuliffe and then pick a D or an R for Lt. Gov.
