Feedback on VLC Club Lacrosse?

Re-read. It said the majority of the best kids. And if your kid is good enough, the privates will work with those families. If your kid goes to a public with a bad coach, he better be exceptional on the club level.

I don't know about VA but even the best public program in MoCo, Churchill, barely has players getting looked at and those that are is because of their club ties. The team is good for a public but way behind the privates.

Yes. You don't know. But you felt like you had to express an opinion anyway. Thanks for nothing!

If you don't know anything specific about VLC, and you don't, your contribution to this thread is useless.

I know VA public lax sucks and gets beat like a drum when they play privates. I also know as both a % of players and total # that VA publics don't come anywhere close to the numbers of VA privates. I also know VLC doesn't show anywhere close to the # of quality players being produced at similar clubs in NOVA. It's been shown time and time again on this thread. Don't worry VLC Mom, your kid will be the exception..

I'm not sure what results you are looking at for quality of players at similar clubs in NOVA. Let's take Madlax and VLC and compare commits.

Madlax 2020 Commits:
Army, Furman, Richmond, Sentry, Williams, Middlebury, Tufts, Lynchburg, UMASS-Boston, VMI, Stevenson, Berry, Coast Guard, Navy, Hampton

VLC 2020 Commits:
Army, Navy, Drexel, Robert Morris, Cabrini, Gettysburg, Williams, Shenandoah, Hampden-Sydney, Christopher Newport, Air Force, Duke, Rensselaer

Can you honestly say there is a difference in the end results? If anything I would say that VLC 2020 has the only "High D1" commit but overall they seem to be getting similar if not the same end results.

In the end, the public vs private debate is dumb. Unless your kid is a super star at either and the team itself is a top tier team, college coaches won't see them at all. The bulk of the college season is at the same time as high school so your best bet to be seen is through club play at good tournaments. If you really want a particular college go to their prospect days or prospect days they are participating in. Your high school coach will only round out some character and work rate questions that a college coach may have but they won't be instrumental in your recruiting (again unless they are a perennial top tier team and have a reputation for quality players).

You know nothing, you just come here to diss VLC because you are insecure about your kid's team. You have nothing positive or useful to contribute. Your stupid and false comments will be ignored by those who actually know the facts.

Who knows maybe a judge recently allowed the Blackwolf guy to have internet access again

And there are more stars at privates as both a % and number and the same goes for teams. And when there are more stars in the privates, the other kid players get seen too.

And there are more and better perennial top teams and coaches in privates as a % and total number.

Thanks for making the point. You can't say it's not correct and then provide a validating viewpoint.

In the English language we call that making a point and then reiterating that point. Reiterating means repeating. You can tell it was repeated because there was there was the word "again." For clarity, there are top tier public high schools all throughout the lacrosse world. I would say that Briar Woods (and I have no affiliation there) would give many of the private schools a run for their money. So the "dumb" part (aside from your lack of comprehension) was the public vs private debate. Tomorrow we'll work on contractions.

Briar Woods is going to be terrible this year.

Which has exactly what to do with VLC?

Still has nothing to do with VLC. Start a new public
V Private thread. But you are likely correct about Briar Woods

Who knows? But what I do know is that my son got into Navy to play lacrosse from ....gasp...loudoun county public schools. Didn't have to pay for high school and now I don't have to pay for college. I was able to put 200k back into my pocket.
